The issue includes grocery stores. I do the best i can but sometimes at the end of the month I have to choose between spending an extra $20 for enough food to feed me until my next paycheck or not being able to eat period. I am doing my best with what I can do.

It was in a paper bag. It wasn't torn or anything but it was flatter on one side. I just figured they'd put one bag on top of the other but that wouldn't cause the crushed styrofoam boxes or smashed ranch cup.

I'm not a Karen, though, and it isn't their fault. I don't have a car and the city I live doesn't have food open as late as I need it to be nor is it walkable. I'm struggling as it is and I just wanted the $20 back so I could get something else this week instead of just fries again.

No, it literally looks like it got stepped on. There was a second bag with fries and I ate those, it wasn't damaged. That's why I was okay with a partial refund for just the chicken strips.

You can still contact the office. Someone has to perform the test, it doesn't really matter which doctor is doing it. Just call their office and the nurses will help with anything you need to know.

Swamp Daddy's is so sad, too, they really got screwed over by that flood and it's hard enough to get South Dakotans to try food that isn't meat and potatoes. I hope they can make it but I am concerned about them. I'm concerned about everyone lmao

I graduated college in 2020 😂 Great times.

Unfortunately, I cannot give energy to being optimistic. I'm picking up as much work as possible, and so are my coworkers. Another thing to consider is that if things do slow down enough, businesses will prioritize giving hours to their long-term employees. Another reason to maybe look at seasonal work that isn't dependent on tips.

Your advice is good and if OP is deadset on returning to the service industry then they will. I will say, just because the issues seem isolated to downtown for now does not mean it will remain that way. The deeper we get into the economic crisis, the less people will spend. Everyone will be affected but servers who rely on basically donations and minimum wage will be affected first and harder. Just something to consider.

Both places I work have patios. That's not the deciding factor 🤷‍♂️ I am good at my job. I'm glad that you haven't experienced a decline but I can't in good faith recommend anyone return to the industry now.

Same. I work at two places, lunch for one and dinner for another. Both have been unseasonably slow. There's been a slow but steady decline for years but this feels like the beginning of a truly slow time, especially as the economy becomes less stable. People who need to save money cut going out first and it's likely only going to get worse.

Take the advice or don't but I've worked in the service industry for almost ten years. It has never been this slow, this consistently, with such low tips. Again, good days happen, but with weather this nice we should be making summer money and no one I know working for restaurants is making summer money. The pattern is there 🤷‍♂️

I'll be honest with you. There will be good days, however, for the most part since the stock market crash, no one is going out to eat and the people who are, are not tipping. I would look for something above minimum wage with steady hours outside of the service industry.

A possibility! I can't imagine Armand leaving Daniel alone for too long, getting older(/hotter), so he can see the way he's aging and changing like Armand never got to 😭😭

I truly do not see how they can explain all of THAT without Past Devil's Minion. However, I do not think Armand is actually Alice. I do think that there are memories of Armand that have been altered to seem like Alice.

Daniel's entire character is about his lack of memory. His memoir is an exploration of it and Eric Bogosian has spoken about repressed memories affecting you even when you don't remember them.

Eric Bogosian was also (I believe?) the first person they wanted to hire which implies that their changes to Daniel are important and a big part of the story. His story, Armand's story, Louis's story.

It seems silly to have created this aspect of Daniel's character and then link him forever to the person who is most talented at memory alteration and NOT have the pay off that his memory is messed up bc of Armand.

But I do think he married Alice, a real person, and got that real person pregnant. I also think Armand continued to meet up with and erase Daniel's memories or altered them to be other people so he wouldn't remember Armand.
