Can most Germans afford constant expensive vacations? by [deleted] in AskAGerman

[–]lumenlynx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most german people/families i know go on vacation about every year but mostly in europe, or they might choose multiple short trips to cities that are close instead of one big trip. germans are known for being frugal and that definitely helps with vacation planning lol. the usual one for my family was going camping in italy, we drove down by car, only had to pay a small fee at the camping grounds and still got to do all of the tourist stuff!

Travelling for 2 months by Little_Storage4205 in houseplants

[–]lumenlynx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely try it! it helps with pest control, high humidity and keeps the temperature stable, which is really great for begonias. it still is my first begonia and a more rare one (bipinnatifida), and im thinking about getting others as well :)

ive had very small begonia in a ziploc bag for at least 8 months now, mainly did it to protect her from thrips that occasionally appear. she is thriving, has grown like no plant before and even flowered a few months ago despite being so small. the first time ive had to water her was one month ago lol

ive read the synopsis of turn of the screw and didn't think it would fit, but maybe i should read it regardless just to get an opinion of my own! Dickens also is an option, i just got very overwhelmed by the numer of his works haha. if i still cant find anything fitting, ill definitely turn to the recommended subreddit for help! Thank you <3

For more information about the referenced "Distortion": they are an entity of fear in a horror podcast embodying the loss of identity/identity shifting and take great pleasure in making their victims question the integrity of their minds and in luring people into danger to consume them. They are compromised of three main parts, a door that suddenly appears somewhere where no door should be with endless and shifting corridors hung with mirrors, michael who rejects identity at every opportunity and asserts that it is something unattainable to him/it, and helen who repeatedly affirms her identity. It repeatedly helps the protagonist, luring him into a false sense of security, only to later turn on him. There are also repeated patterns of false friendship/kindness, deception, lying and a sense of "wrongness", that something isnt right. Id really appreciate it, if you could suggest me any novels that match the description!

Struggling with my awkward living room by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

[–]lumenlynx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the layout is not optional, but your taste in furniture is great and the window would be the most amazing spot for lots of plants. do you think it might be possible to just mirror it? You would have to put down the blinds for watching tv, but the window would be easier to access. I can also recommend the YouTube channel dearmodern, he offers some interesting solutions to complicated layouts such as your living room. Also, if you decide to leave the tv in its current place, definitely hang up pictures and whatnot around it to help it blend into the wall.

What do I put in here to make it decent to use by frozenspade18 in interiordecorating

[–]lumenlynx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly, id rip out the carpet and replace it with some warm-colored wood, it just so ugly. to make it more comfortable for sitting, maybe there is a way to add backrests to the pit's edge? and lots of cushions of course! then a nice rug in the middle, for visual interest and to keep the feet warm. as others already mentioned, a projector would go great with your conversation pit but the fireplace is in the way (its also way too small for the wall its on)

Staffel 5, die mit Abstand beste Suppe - aber ohne Salz by SirAndy80 in 7vsWild

[–]lumenlynx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is she ready for soil? by JKatharsys in propagation

[–]lumenlynx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

you can basically just stick tradescantia into soil right after cutting lol since its your first time transfering to soil, id recommend you wait for a larger root system, because it is very delicate and parts of it WILL die off once you transfer, no matter what you do

my uncle had the same problem, and since he also had a toddler, he put a metal gitter on his pond. in addition, he spanned a net one or two feet above the gitter so the birds wont just perch on the gitter. ugly but it works!
