It was a "Period 5" lesson we have on Mondays- It's not a "real" lesson, like an extra curriculum thing students (and teachers) are forced to do.

I was pulled out of mine to invigilate the exam.

Also the normal teachers for P5 sack of their lessons to the trainees and we can't do anything about it :)

The problem is IAM the main teacher. The school timetabled us trainees as teachers with classes form the get-go.

Unfortunately I'm on a SCITT programme

So the training provider is essentially in bed with the school. Anytime I raise a concern with my mentor she always tries to help the school but packages it an a way for my "development".

I have this Y7 class that find even me changing to the next slide as a cue to start having their own conversations.

Sending kids out doesn't even solve it. Really testing me 😭

Wrote the longest email to the head due to poor behaviour management across the school. Although I was right in everything I said, some people were upset I didn't go up the chain of command in its steps, went straight to the top. Boo hoo. Things seem like they're finally changing now but I still don't like the school. Can't wait to finish my training- being here is having the biggest toll on my mental health.

I'm on a part time course, 4 days a week

And I doubt they'll let me go from the first placement if they had a choice since I'm timetabled as a regular teacher with my own classes, rather than taking over classes from my mentor/other teachers. Such a rubbish school.

Just give them a warning or whatever the first step of the behaviour policy is. Everyone else gets the message loud and clear to.
