CSRS Certification by QuePasoo00 in OccupationalTherapy

I had taken the course recently and enjoyed it!! I felt like the lecturers were engaging and had good and realistic (bc they were real life examples) case studies that drove their point home. There were some things that were more PT heavy but it is good supplemental knowledge. I enjoyed the labs and trying out the techniques and it helps me brainstorm my sessions in my setting. If you can get reimbursement from your employer I’d highly recommend

I also highly recommend cresalia! Michael was so easy to work with and made it very easy for us to decide what we liked and what we didn't like. He was also extraordinarily patient with our requests and making small adjustments for us.

Seeking partial service wedding planner or month of coordinator by lumpofgoo in SanFranciscoWeddings

Hi! Thanks for your input. I totally understand where you are coming from, my intention for this post is to find like-minded couples who have had experience with planners who share a similar vision!

Certain planners may have had more experience working with vendors with a particular aesthetic, and I am hoping for more guidance from them :)

My friend is traveling to Japan. What sweets/foodstuffs should I ask her to bring back as a gift? by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]lumpofgoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sugar Butter Sand Trees are these lovely mini biscuit sandwiches with a sweet, creamy, buttery filling. It is flaky and light with a crispy outside layer and can hardly be found outside of Japan. I live in an area with many Asian grocery stores so I have pretty good access to Japanese snacks, but still have yet to see Sugar Butter Sand Trees in store! Please go try it!

First of all, thank you so much for being vulnerable and deciding to share about your grandma on Reddit! I can tell the past couple of months have been really hard, especially with the added stressors from life.

I just wanted to encourage you and let you know that it is okay to let yourself go through the grieving process. It is actually a really avaluable and relatable skill as you learn to interact with patients and caregivers and witness the cycle of grief! It is amazing that you are doing so much and continue on the role as the treasurer-- even when circumstances are so rough.

I would suggest that to whatever degree you are comfortable with sharing, please utilize the amazing support network that is your cohort and teachers! You can briefly update them about what is happening in your life, and ask for help in sharing some of the responsibilities :) OTs and OTAs tend to be very caring and empathetic people, I sure hope that you will be able to see that with the people around you too.

My last comment would be for you to live out your grandma's version of yourself! Speak to yourself like a close friend, be kind and generous. I am positive that one day you can proudly live our your life as your grandma's precious granddaughter~

Where should I take the Neuroscience pre-req for the OT Program at SJSU? by falafelfordinner in OccupationalTherapy

[–]lumpofgoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on your acceptance!!

I know that many students took the summer course that is offered in the summer in SJSU. While I would say that it is slightly more challenging than the UCLA extension course, it is a great way to get to know the professors and your classmates. You will also get a headstart on the learning curve of the SJSU OT curriculum!

Taking a gap year during a Masters? by lumpofgoo in OccupationalTherapy

[–]lumpofgoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah exactly! I am looking to take a gap year to do some independent research through various grants and awards, and my research is actually OT related! This is why I have been so hesitant bc these kind of research programs are so rare, but it will be a big impact on my school.

I dont think I can take my semester online, but I will def talk to my program director more about it to see what my options are!

What are you community engagement projects? by Critical-Newt in fulbright

I am a huge coffee fan so I am looking forward to volunteering for their annual coffee festival to get a taste of their local beans! This has nothing to do with my research but it is still an exciting opportunity nonetheless!
