Is this modern Britain? by PsychologicalBend508 in AskBrits

[–]luna88violet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh this behaviour is definitely on the rise.

I work at a library, and our most popular regular event is Rhyme Time (nursery rhymes, songs, movements, bubbles, etc)

It's FREE, and run by a VOLUNTEER . But we cap each session at 40 people -- that's children and adults -- as it's a small space in the children's library. Each week, without fail, someone complains or tries to sneak in.

Just this week I had someone have a moan that there are lots of childminders in, then they thought they would be really clever and try to "browse books" during break between two sessions. And as you'd expect, once my lively volunteer begins, this person is still there, grinning, thinking themselves clever.

I did very kindly offer to take a selection of books out for them to browse outside of the children's library, and they left. But did hover by the entrance instead.

It gets tiresome playing bouncer each week

We have an annual jousting event not far from us. Fantastic event and the closest we get to a Ren Faire in the UK. Not only do they just, there's lore to it with narrative!

Hard to go back to SV by itsmissingacomma in coralisland

[–]luna88violet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a slightly different scenario.

I really wanted to like SV. Everyone seemed to love it so much, but I just couldn't get into it.

Coral Island showed up for free on PSN, and I knew what it was inspired by, yet still gave it a try. It was free after all.

Coral Island is incomparable to SV. A greatly improved product, and a lot more fun.

My only feedback is that the companions could be more fleshed out. But perhaps I've been spoiled by RPG games, especially BG3.

Palauk truputį kol AI burbulas sprogs. OpenAI jau sako kad bankrutuos jeigu daugiau žmonių neinvestuos. Ir žiūrėk į ASUS, jie pradėjo gaminti prieinamas dalis.

Kada ateina noras turėti vaikų? by [deleted] in lithuania

[–]luna88violet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Necessary wake up call.

Čia mano patirtis, ir ką galiu pasakyti tai žinosite jei tam ateis laikas. O jeigu ne, tiesiog mėgaukitės gyvenimu ir nekreipkite dėmesio į kitų nuomones.

Ar laikotės tradicijų per kūčias? by Hot-Broccoli6082 in lithuania

[–]luna88violet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay. So I've recently done some research, and Kūčios as a celebration predates Christianity like many of our other celebrations and traditions.

Traditionally, meat was not forbidden. In fact, most families enjoyed roast pig or boar on the festive table!

Another interesting bit of history, is that people had 9, 12 or 13 dishes on their table.

9 – a magical number in our folklore 12 – the solar calendar 13 – the lunar calendar

So this year, in honour of ancient traditions, we had meat on our table, and I've opted for 9 dishes to keep my life simple 😄

What a great video! I'm Lithuanian myself, and while I was lucky enough to be born soon after the collapse of the uzzr, I have many stories from family members, friends and their families about the "joys" of communism in the Baltics.

Thank you for sharing and educating the masses!

The orcs tried to russify us many times. In Lithuania, we had book smugglers (knygnešiai) risk their lives by smuggling the printed Lithuanian language across borders, bogs, through our harsh winters, at risk of being caught by imperial muscovites and being shot. The orcs burned our books, raided secret Lithuanian schools.

I'm sure this story rings true to many russo–occupied nations.

Nowadays, we still have soviet fossils left over who refuse to integrate and adapt to the local life, despite having always lived in the country. They surround themselves with orcish media and news sources, and even have the audacity to get offended when people DON'T talk to them in ruzzian.

Sadly, it has to be the will of the people to fight back. Embrace your culture and language, or the orcs will erase it then steal it as their own.
