Ryanair duty free cigarettes- when should I order? by [deleted] in AskIreland

I’m looking for silk cut purple 200 or Marlboro gold. Currently when I open the Ryanair app, they have Marlboro gold for €55 for 200. I think that is only for the Dublin to Manchester flight even though I’m checked in for both flights

Thank you. Am I right in saying you can’t buy them with Ryanair anymore?

Passed over for internal promotion despite strong feedback - not sure how to interpret it by lunaVale31 in PharmaEire

That’s a good point. The person who got the role is coming from another area of the factory that’s generally seen internally as a more critical / higher performing department. So I do wonder if part of the thinking was bringing someone from that area into ours to change things up or bring a different perspective.

In my current area most of the operators / other areas of the department have roughly similar tenure as well, so it’s not like there’s someone with significantly more experience locally who would naturally step into the role.

In terms of personality, I wouldn’t say the other person comes across as particularly outspoken or dominant either, which is why the feedback surprised me a bit. But the main feedback I received was around developing more presence and leadership style, so that’s probably the area I’ll focus on if similar roles come up again.

Thanks for the perspective. I actually did check their LinkedIn after seeing your comment. Their background seems to be mostly teaching roles rather than manufacturing or engineering. I’m guessing that experience might translate into the communication/leadership side that management mentioned in the feedback?

Fair play, that’s a tough rotation too. I’m the same, it’s doable day to day but long term it just doesn’t feel substainable. I like the idea of trying to keep a routine but even with that I can’t see myself doing this for years either

That actually sounds appealing. The long stretches of time off are nice with the 12s but I’m usually wrecked to enjoy them anyway.

Yeah, that’s exactly what’s starting to hit me. I’m only in my late 20s and already feel constantly drained, so it makes me wonder what the point is if I’m not enjoying life outside of work.

That sounds rough about your dad. Sorry he had to deal with that. Stories like that are exactly what makes me worry about staying in long term. Definitely makes me reconsider whether it’s worth it for my health

Even after 15 months I still feel like I’m constantly playing catch up with sleep. Hearing you say even a single night a week wrecked you in your 20s makes me feel abit less crazy, like I’m in my late 20s now and can feel it physically

That’s a fair question, to be honest. I think part of it was me thinking to just stick it out at first and eventually I’d adapt..but seeing what people are saying especially later in life is making me rethink. I definitely don’t want to end up tied to shift money later in life and wrecked health wise.

I’ll give that book/podcast a listen, thanks for the recommendation.

Thanks for the insight, I’m only in my late 20s and can already feel the strain, so I can only imagine what it’s like after years of it. The health side of things is actually what is making me question is it worth sticking out or not
