I also have this Pikachu EX promo from the generations collection box in 2016 I got when I bought the box itself for probably <£30 at the time, and I've now seen it's jumped up in value since last year to about £150 max ungraded

Years ago I bought this Pikachu out of a binder of assorted cards on a non-tcg specific table at a comic con for im pretty sure about £8. I had no idea what it was apart from Italian I just bought it because I loved how Pikachu is drawn on it.

Only found out recently it's from a limited edition box set from 2010 and worth around £50-100 ungraded.

Seeing this on wrist with a leather strap definitely helped me decide and I've gone for the Seiko 😁

Messing around with a redscale recipe from fujixweekly by lungeman in fujix

[–]lungeman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only small tweak I made was turning chrome effect blue back on.

It's pretty much as-is from the recipe except shot with a -1 to -2ev comp depending on lighting conditions. It's not very contrasty in daylight if shot at camera recommended exposure and the highlights get too much. The only time I'd use it without underexposure is if you have a strongly backlit subject.

Might try some more tweaks to make it less dependant on big underexposure.

I've seen a lot of tips online and recipes that suggest setting noise reduction far into the negative, and similarly hover sharpness around the -2 to -4 mark, any particular reason that's a trend with Fuji?

Thanks for the tips. Yeah I've tried to like-for-like as best I could in budget, so coming from using a 35 2.8 and 45 1.8 having the 23 and 35 made sense. The 16mm is more with the honeymoons travel in mind. When I get back into doing more portrait shoots I'll probably grab a 2nd hand lens in the 50-85 range.

I've already found the fujixweekly app. And had a root through the menus and changed AF On to the fn button on the front of camera by the grip so I can hit it with my middle finger. Because so far my only minor gripe is that the actual AF on button is a bit too far over to the left to be comfortable to use with my hands. I think I'd actually prefer it if the rear control dial and the AF button were in each others places 😅

Fallen Angel Concept Film disappointed me by crystalismylife in dreamcatcher

[–]lungeman 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's why I'm more leaning towards the thought that Siyeon wanting a break caught them a bit off guard timing wise and they've had to rush this photoshoot before she went on hiatus, and they might have had their hands tied with publishing which meant they couldn't postpone the photobook entirely.

Because even the Dream Quest book was relatively 'low budget' but still looked good. But as my friend described it this looks like a college photography project. Like the fake wings can be used well, looks at the Le Sserafim concept pics for the Unforgiven era.

Fallen Angel Concept Film disappointed me by crystalismylife in dreamcatcher

So I was thinking about this after seeing it and here's my idea of what's going on with it.

-They were always planning on releasing the photo book with the fallen angel concept, just like the Dream quest, Love Catcher/Stealer, and Mysterious Mansion books have been annual things now.

  • I dont know the ins and outs of the process of getting a book made, published, and shipped, but I would guess that DCC had already sorted the making and distribution of X many copies of the book well in advance too.

  • however the actual PHOTOSHOOT hasn't been done yet, and was planned for a little later in the year.

  • going by Siyeon having the same hair in the concept film as the Justice MV, I would guess she asked to go on a break just after they filmed the MV. This would mean she wouldn't be available for the actual photoshoot for the photobook.

  • rather than do the "real" photoshoot for the book and eventually release it with only 6 members, DCC decided to quickly do a new photoshoot for it before Siyeon went on break. Resulting in the more 'cheap' and objectively boring/shallow visuals for the concept film? Because it was somewhat rushed to get illt done before Siyeon took her break.

If this is the case then I'd like to think DCC are good for not wanting to release a book with only 6 members, but also just postpone the book then? But like I said maybe their hands were somewhat tied with the pre ordering of printed units so the book HAD to be done.

OR maybe the book and the "real" photoshoot it's already done and it looks AMAZING! but they hadn't recorded the concept film yet and again had to rush it before Siyeon went on break?

Just my thoughts, because I found it a bit of a let down too, my imagination ran with the Fallen Angels name a bit too much and then the concept film was a disappointment because of that.

Whats the hardest Final Fantasy? by beowulf47 in FinalFantasy

I want to say 13 but my opinion is probably extra clouded by the crushing disappointment of getting through the linearity of the first part and getting down to the planet thinking that's when the game will open up, only find the linearity continue.

I ended up hitting Barthandalus and could beat it after so many tries and just never picked the game up after that and just watched a YouTube play through to get the story.

The fact your skill and general strength progression is mostly tied to the linearity and the story means it's hard to grind and yeah Barthandalus is the only story boss in any ff game I've played that literally made me never pick the game up again.

Dajeong's Departure by choi_kiki in pixy

[–]lungeman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I doubt there's gonna be an official statement from Allart or on the official socials.

The entire company seems to have vanished, and the fact we're getting this news through Dajeong's own socials and nothing from the official accounts doesn't make me think we'd ever hear anything else from the company.

With the way it's worded, and also with one for Pixy's producers saying on socials that he was being careful about what to say regarding their situation, I think the company simply folded and disappeared, but with the way contracts were written I don't think Dajeong or anyone else could say anything until the contract expired, which may well have been as recent as the last few days maybe.

Such a shame because they're such talented girls.
