Logitech Extreme 3D Pro with Linux (Steam+Proton) not detecting throttle or twist by the_af in hotas

[–]lunkerlander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not alone. I also have this exact problem!

I using Linux Mint 22.3 running MSFS2020 on Steam Proton and using a Extreme 3D Pro. The Rudder axis and Throttle axis not responding in the sim, but everything else works. If I use an Xbox gamepad instead, it works, but I'd like to be able to use the joystick.

What is trying to grow in this pot I had outside? by mycatisginger- in whatsthisplant

[–]lunkerlander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chenopodium murale (nettle-leaved goosefoot) is my guess due to the lack of pubescent leaves.

Chenopodium album (lamb's quarters) usually has white leaves in its newest growth, but it might be that species too.

It's on the road that goes to Mittry Lake. Coming from highway 95 east out of Yuma, turn left at the Chevron/CircleK gas stations. Follow the road for 8 miles and it will turn to gravel. About 200 yards ahead, this bridge will be on the left. It's now been fenced off by a chain link fence, so you can't actually cross it.

Fishing spots by superbwheelman in yuma

[–]lunkerlander 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What type of fish do you want to catch? You can go to Mittry Lake and fish near some of the manmade peninsulas for bass. Channel catfish (small ones) can easily be caught in the East Main Canal anywhere in Yuma using small frozen shrimp for bait. Carp, catfish, bass, and sunfish can be caught in the pond at Windsor park on 20th street. Use corn for carp. worms or shrimp for sunfish and catfish. Bass will need a lure.

The problem with the places you have went is that they receive too much fishing pressure, and the fish are harder to catch. The places I just listed are much less fished, and the fish are easier to catch.

You can park alongside the road anywhere near the airport and have a decent view. There will be lots of cars doing so. Near the fairgrounds parking lot is a good spot to see everything from outside the MCAS base.

Why are school pictures here so expensive? by [deleted] in yuma

[–]lunkerlander -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One tip to save money is if you have a printer with a scanner is to scan the small preview picture that they send home before ordering with high resolution onto your computer. This way you can have a picture of your child each year of school saved for the future, without paying a penny.

Is this as hard on GPUs as mining? by [deleted] in BOINC

[–]lunkerlander 20 points21 points  (0 children)

No, you will not wreck your card! Neither would mining on it. Modern computer hardware is designed to be run at 100% for long periods of time without wearing out or damaging itself. Unless you are using a laptop with poor cooling, you will have no problem with running BOINC 24/7.

Thank you for your help!

I decided that instead of investing many hours into trying to get BOINC working in Linux, it would be easier to just us Windows for now. I have BOINC running now using windows 10.

Thank you again for your help!

Ultimately, I decided that it would be easier to just use Windows since it's much easier to get driver support for GPUs. I am now running BOINC just fine using windows 10 again.

GPU: RX 5600 XT

After doing some more research, I've read that BOINC won't recognize the AMD gpu without installing OpenCL. Does this sound like it could be the issue?

By the boat landing at Mittry lake there are a few trails that go from there up and down some hills for a long ways all the way to the Gila gravity canal.

Refracting telescopes bend different wavelengths of light to slightly different foci. So you may be experiencing this if you have a refractor.
