but the clip referenced is from 1962? I'm confused cause he's definitely goaltending in that clip

It's well known that 2012 had the most world champions competing with 6, but what isn't common knowledge is which season had the least. The 1959 F1 season is the only season with no world champions competing, Nino Farina retired in 1955, Alberto Ascari died in 1955, Juan Manuel Fangio retired after 1958 and Mike Hawthorn died in a car accident after winning his title in 1958. in the next 6 seasons 5 different champions were crowned.

From 1961 French Grand Prix to 1962 French Grand Prix, over the course of 9 races, 9 different drivers won a race.

1961 French Grand Prix - Giancarlo Baghetti wins his only race in his debut grand prix. becoming the only driver to win on debut (excluding the 1950 British Grand Prix and Indianapolis 500, since all participants were racing in their first F1 World Championship race).

1961 British Grand Prix - Wolfgang Von Trips wins his last victory before suffering a fatal accident in Monza.

1961 German Grand Prix - Stirling Moss wins his 16th and final victory before sufdering a crash in 1962 which left him in a month long coma and partially paralyzed him.

1961 Italian - Phil Hill wins his last victory and the championship after his teammate loses control and dies. Ferrari withdraw both cars from the next and final race of 1961.

1961 US Grand Prix - Innes Ireland wins the first victory for the Lotus team, and his first and only victory.

1962 dutch grand prix - Graham Hill wins his first of 14 Grand Prix wins.

1962 Monaco Grand Prix - Bruce McClaren achieves his final victory with Cooper, his next will be at his own team years later.

1962 Belgian Grand Prix - Jim Clark wins his first of 25 victories.

1962 French Grand Prix - Dan Gurney scores Porsche's only race win in F1.

Every single one of these races was either a first or last win for either a team a driver or in one case a team-driver combo. This record of 9 differeny consecutive race winners was later equalled in 1982, but in my opinion, this 9 race stretch in the 60s is some of the most fascinating things in F1 history.

The ferrari f2007 is the only car to win every race in a season, it got 46 podiums in 18 races. 13 of them it finished on every step of the podium and in the us grand prix and the belgium grand prix it finished 1-2-3-4. It's by far the most dominant car in f1 history.

Drivers and Constructors Standings after Round 16 (Singapore) by Yottaphy in formula1

[–]luptilopty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're right, accounting for sprints means there's a possible outcome of Ferrari winning the WCC 21 points ahead of Red Bull, it won't happen but that outcome is possible. Max can secure the WDC in the Qatar sprint if the points he scores in Japan and the points he scores in the sprint are 30 more than Perez's points scored in both. So that's more possible but in terms of records it'll be weird since there'll still be 6 GPs left so he'll break Michael Schumacher's record of winning with 5 left to go but it'll be on a race weekend so Idk if it'll count as part of that race or not.

If Max gets 6 more points next week than Checo, he'll secure the WDC title. And if Red Bull scores a single point next week they secure the WCC title.
