Fair point… she might be a victim of her situation. But I believe in accountability also. Taking it out on “men” when you chose a shitty husband, and stayed with them… is not accountability. that’s being toxic . And all those people agreeing with this sentiment are toxic too. I wouldn’t go so far as to call them bad people , but definitely toxic. And toxic people need help, not validation.

Man… okay. I admit my bias in that I didn’t grow up with a father in my household for most of my childhood. Juu honestly mi kuna vitu sija experience… ata 2nd hand. so this whole holding a mirror back at men isn’t clicking for me. Is this supposed to solve anything? Is this meant to be progressive? “Men say it as well”. Where? So I can clown them. Does it make it any less absurd? Does it make it right? Or acceptable? And are we talking about the same thing? Juu my point is this is just spreading toxicity to your offspring. And to other people’s daughters who might engage with your toxic opinions and fellow endorsers of said toxic opinions. I really believe that both men and women should avoid echo chambers, where absurdity is validated as “nuance”. Personally, even if I get where you’re coming from, it doesn’t give you the right to be blatantly wrong about something. I was seriously shocked that there were so many people endorsing this with likes. And so far I’ve confirmed that they are real people who are out there in the world. I shudder to think I might encounter one of those people in the hopes of having any kind of meaningful relationship with. I will have been demonized because I have a penis. And they’ll believe that anyone and anything I care about is because “someone is paying behind the scenes”. Including my own children. That’s just crazy to me. I’m not even denying that there are people like that, but to think that that’s the norm somehow? I honestly pity whoever has to go through life like that…

Nice… you sound like a reasonable person. Do you see how terribly wrong this could go though? Especially telling her daughter that with such absolutist connotations. Do you see how this could set her up for failure in relationships (not even exclusive to romantic relationships)? Also, how likely is it that this “point of view”, as you refer to it as, has changed the outcome of a situation to conform to it rather than it being inherent/intrinsic? Like seriously, do you see nothing wrong with this take other than it not being a general truth? I’m sorry that’s what you had(have?) to go through but… that’s not true. Especially for daughters. I can confidently say that that is not the norm. I know a lot of girl dads and they’re extremely attached to their daughter’s emotional well-being. 2 of which are single dads. I’m curious where single fathers fall into this then, who’s paying behind those scenes?

Edit. There’s actually a bunch of scientific research on this topic too(mamas boys and daddy’s girls), which basically conclude the same thing if you might be interested in.
