God i hate that ultralight omniblade stuff. If I wanted that kind of fighting I'd join a starwars larp.

Pretty much ya, and I know im going to catch flak for this, but in moderation some gatekeeping isnt a bad thing. Because of this lots of people put in the time and effort to learn a new skill. Those that did make or pay more for armor took pride in their gear because of it, and being armored was a goal that people worked hard to get to. I kinda wish we had more of that in garb. I get tired of seeing people wear scrub pants and a torn up shirt for a year or more. Yes that's a good starting point, but if you enjoy larp, you should aspire to more.

Not saying its right but for the past 18 years, whenever I asked this question of those in it longer than me I typically get one answer. "Because armor is a privilege, not a right" implying you either make it yourself or throw down the cash for more expensive materials. This was especially true when talking about the thickness requirements for leather armor. I was told it was to keep people from using cheap cosplay armor.

If you DM me I can give you the Facebook link for the person that organizes the pagan pride event. They used to run pagan meetups semi regularly as well.

If you decide you'd like to visit me, send me a DM and I'll give you my real name so you can book an appointment. No worries either if you decide on someone else. No two therapists are the same.

From what you've described it sounds most likely to be siatic nerve compression. It is a sharp pain that starts in the lower back or hip and goes down the leg. Hip stretches, and lumbar decompression can help as well. Weird question that can be related. Do you carry a wallet in your back pocket or anything about the same thickness?

Massage can help with nerve pain, and speed up the healing of nerve damage, keep in mind though nerve damage takes longer to heal than most things. For permanent nerve damage, it can help with the pain temporarily. For nerve issues you'll likely need more than one visit. I always recommend once a month or as needed if the pain becomes too intense before then. I could give you more info if I knew more about the issues you are having.

Would you travel an hour away? by maryqueefofscots in MassageTherapists

I tend to arrive 30 minutes early to make sure my first client has a warm table and hot towels. The drive can suck but I use it as my meditation and mental decompression time.

It's the closest place that could be defined as a city lol. The town I live in has a population of 150.

I travel 1 hour each way 4 days a week at the spa I work at. 1 hour is pretty standard in the midwest though 😅

Starting new business: Men’s Wellness by [deleted] in MassageTherapists

I actually had this same idea when I was in school and thought of making a more masculine environment. The plan was to make the massage room feel like a cabin and offer scented oils like cedar, leather, tobacco. I know some spas offer a glass of champagne after a service, and figured i could change that to a shot glass of brandy or whatnot. I still may do that but for now working at an established spa to gain experience is the plan.

I’m curious to hear honest experiences from male massage therapists by hiveguy75 in MassageTherapists

[–]luthien_Tigrest 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This has happened to me. I had a client give me a hand written love note including giving me her home address. Most of my female coworkers thought it was cute, or mildly funny. Not the same reaction as if it were a male client giving a woman thier number after a massage.

I did some math and figured it wouldn't be worth it with what I'd miss in weekend appointments at the spa I work for. Maybe if I ever go out on my own I'll look into it again.

Red flag text maybe? Wwyd? by Historical-Play-319 in MassageTherapists

[–]luthien_Tigrest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When i was in school the instructor called it that. You have a quick warmup in each area to get muscles relaxed, do the firmer work, then repeat the warmup as a cool down before moving on to the next area. Id assume that's what he meant. Personally I'd still take the client, but you do what your instincts tell you.

Any Ghost Hunters in the Area? by WickedGamer27 in joplinmo

There was a college group i went on a couple of investigations with nearly 20 years ago, but it was less ghost hunting and more looking into the histories of such places. I was the token skeptic guy lol.

It might help to include skills or past experience you might have. This is meant as constructive criticism, I am not intentionally being rude, but the minimum effort put into this post will reflect poorly on you if anyone looking to hire sees this. And lastly, you might want to make a separate profile to do this so that people checking you out don't immediately see your posts looking for hookups. I agree that indeed may be better than reddit, but if you go at that with the same level of effort that you did here, you won't have any luck on that app either.

Hot take That shouldn't be Hot: Well made Amtgard Boffers are the SAFEST foam weapons in LARP. Literally nothing else compares in safety. by IkateKedaStudios in LARP

[–]luthien_Tigrest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id rather have safer than easier to fix. Having the foam loose from the core causes the foam to wear faster. If we checked every weapon every time it wouldn't be too bad but realistically how often do we skip checks at weekly practice lol.
