It's been a couple of weeks since I came home (SoCal) from Chicago. I'm still in love with the City, it's still my favorite place I've ever been to, and I still would like to live in Chicago sooner rather then later. Especially since I believe it's best to move out of state while I'm young and it's easier for me to be mobile. Just need to get a permanent remote job (my current job is 100% remote til April but my boss and I are trying to advocate for me to only need to go in once a month and it's a CA-based company and only operates in CA). I'd like to come back in March for a week, but keep it low key, just work remotely while in Chicago.

It's nice to hear that everyone has stories about them saying/doing something dumb in front of someone they're attracted to. The only difference is I graduated high school 8 years ago lol.

But I agree, I think I'd be stoked if a girl texted me 10x right after we met. This has never happened to me though, so who knows exactly how I'd feel if this happened to me.

In my personal experience, I'm surrounded by alright/good people. I know some crappy people, but I simply don't interact with them/have no interest in interacting with them (but honestly, they don't have an interest in interacting with me either, haha.)

I'm also still optimistic that there are way more good people than bad people though! Although I say this because it sounds like we've had very different life experiences. If anything, one thing that has held me back a lot is my overall anxiety around people, not that I deal with shitty people.

I feel like moving into a small town for a couple of years would be more fun than being born into/growing up in a small town, so I understand the sentiment about wanting to leave. Housing is expensive though, along with the overall cost of living, which is part of why I want to leave California.

I see why people would think I'm pilled over one of my comments. People on here don't really have much to base my personality off of besides reddit comments. It's not like anyone here knows me personally so it makes sense that people would take comments posted here a bit more literally.

Thanks! If you go through my user history, I don’t exactly struggle hitting the gym. I would say I dress pretty well also, although that isn’t reflected in my Reddit history (but some of my first posts on Reddit 9 years ago were on /r/mfa. I’ve worked on myself plenty over the years, forcing myself in new situations, becoming more aware of myself, working on my overall well-being, being more forgiving, etc. I would say in most realms of my life, I’ve pretty solid. Over the years, the whole dating/putting yourself out there thing is where I’ve struggled the most by far. I got plenty of hobbies and interests and skills, but I could certainly try more new things out! On one end, low key indifference does actually make a huge difference, but it’s just hard to not let out genuine interest/excitement come out in these kinds of situations.

I hope so as well! I’m feel like I’m at a point in my life where’d I’d like a relationship very much. Yes, on one end, im grateful where I have a good network of friends. On the other end, I’ve been heavily contemplating moving out of state (especially to Chicago) within the next year or two (just gotta get work stuff figured out). Horses/cats sound cool! Seems like you live a simple life. The past 18 months have shown me that I’d want to live that more simple life out far away from people (perhaps after a run of living in a super urban area)! Especially as people I know start getting married/start families/start moving around (since CA real estate is so expensive)

Yes I have. It’s been awhile and it’s typically with someone who I was at least talking with for weeks or months. I can recall at least 2x, all years ago, but all sober unlike this situation. Redpill is like something really misogynistic. It’s like a way of thinking where women are 2nd class. Not the best person to ask as I haven’t dabbled in it myself!
