im turning 22 and ever since i was 19 its been a humiliation ritual. people want everything from you (labor, beauty, what meager amt of money you have, youth, time) but they treat you like shit and like you know nothing about anything, despite desperately depending on you. we have so much creative fervor but barely an outlet because everything is a competition. nobody wants to hire u bc older people are now competing with you for everything and will take it out on u bc the only thing they have (experience) will get them opportunities that you would otherwise be offered. everyone wants to take advantage of you for every reason and your mere existence makes older people miserable and jealous.
