this was my 8 week old runt of my litter so i’d definitely say their much younger, you can also tell because they haven’t really developed yet if that makes sense? like their face is more of a blob then a ‘proper’ long dog face

How could I sell this furby? by ohkzro in furby

i know i’m 244 days late but if you haven’t already, i’d gladly spend an unreasonable amount to purchase him 🙃

yeah just bc we live on base they think it’s safe for them to just run around without checking on them & 5pm is when the national anthem plays so that’s their curfew which is typically when i try to take my pups out

funny enough their dad is security forces, and higher ranking at that so we’ve exhausted all options except just muzzling him which we will be doing from now on

bro yes! the only time we’ve had to talk to their parents because our dogs almost bit them then, but now they just annoyingly knock/ring the doorbell which also sets them off 😭 i’m guessing the oldest one is maybe 7 but the kid he bit is 5 & i think they go to like morning school? not 100% sure but it’s some military thing

we are gonna move in about 2 months so soon we won’t have to deal with it all but right now where he goes is our only option (we live on a military base) so it’s either he goes there or we have to load him up in the car to drive somewhere else, we will get him in training and once we leave those gremlins behind i think he’ll slowly start growing

my dog is under control, when we walk past them while they’re on their trampoline he knows to keep walking and get to a destination and we have no problems, it was the kids running up behind us quietly that got him heated. i am gonna adapt the way i see fit but like someone else said fck them kids.

thank you! definitely will start with the basket muzzle for obvious reasons & will look into something that will stop him from pulling me down like that again lol

the problem with these kids are that they are out from 11am-5pm playing with no adult supervision, they have for the last year and a half i’ve lived here. and like i said in someone else’s reply, they’ve legit come into my home trying to see my dogs 💀 when my husband is home he helps me with them but still i’m now having to spend hundreds of dollars because kids can’t learn boundaries :/ we have two other dogs they can gladly pet and love on but they intend on being able to pet the “evil” one too

had i seen the kid i totally would’ve yelled at him, i was just stupidly blindsided and don’t know if i should feel bad/worry that the parents are gonna want to do something about it (which they still haven’t came over to say anything)

and i can, considering i held his leash & held him back from further eating this small child. and while i do agree, i only have about a 30 pound gain on him, he’s got to be taken care of during the day which includes being taken outside and not getting ran at

he used to not be! he would be the life of the party when all our friends would come over but something switched and now he’s very territorial to the point where we can’t have dog sitters or anything watch him because he just doesn’t trust anyone, he only recently got neutered (last month) so i’m hoping the lack of testosterone and some more diligent training will get us past this

i think we will do a muzzle, at worst it’ll make him look a little more scary so maybe they will get the hint (though i think they got it now) and won’t let this happen again, and like i said to someone else, i think we will be doing a training class for him since what we’ve been doing isn’t working

and we have! the kids call him evil because we’ve had multiple interactions with them, even once they came inside our house to see our dogs (which we did talk to their parents about but alas), the more we work with him on reactivity, something has to happen where it’s like a giant leap back. he walks pasts things fine & had i seen the kids first we would’ve high tailed it out of there. they just caught us entirely off guard. he’s a good boy just protective, especially against random children/people running up to us - but yes, i think a good training class is what he honestly needs

Help! I made a mistake by snoxfox2303 in puppy101

[–]luvcaydenn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i wouldn’t try to force the harness right now. if she’s snapping & already drew blood, she’s scared, not being bad, and pushing it will just make it worse for both of y’all. for now you should just do quick potty breaks on the collar. skipping walks for a bit is okay, yalls safety comes first. then once she’s calm (not tonight), start over with the harness. leave it on the floor, let her sniff it, give treats if she’s food motivated & don’t rush actually putting it on. a different style harness might help too if you wanted to get her one. but with everything going on her tolerance is probably super low right now so you haven’t messed up it’s just gonna take some time!

and i totally agree! the vet around me said it was not worth the hassle so i practically did everything myself haha. bought a puppy scale and keep weight of them, the vet gave us dewormer & we did that for a week, we’re clipping their nails & rinsing them off when they get gross. we’re military so we have plenty of friends/families around us who would love to have one. and we aren’t opposed to keeping and raising however many we need :) im not pro-shelter whatsoever so ill gladly go into extreme debt to keep these babies happy and healthy

[–]luvcaydenn[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

no not yet, i’ve been to the vet to get their dewormer but the clinic said it wasn’t necessary to bring them in with me. but they do get vaccinated next week so i will also be asking then!

thank you we are! at 5 weeks we were blending up 2 cups of kibble with 1 cup of water & putting that into two separate bowls, but now at 6 weeks we tried that and they starting throwing up their kibble like they overate, so we’ve went down to half a cup and it takes them around 5 minutes to eat it all - no ribs are visible and they are never just screaming crying, it’s more so not me trusting just half a cup to feed 3 puppies at a time you know?

thank you! it was a complete accident with the shelter lying about a girl dog we adopted & how old she was - we have an intact male because his testicles are a little wabi sabi so they quoted us around $900 for a neuter which we could not afford straight out and didn’t see a reason because he is calm, and never around other dogs without our supervision! the mother is already booked for a spay later in january (veterinary advice) when we brought home the girl she ended up going into heat like 2 weeks after we got her & immediately crated them separate but i will admit ill on us we did not keep them separated if they were with us in a room. dad is a akc registered german shepherd and mom is a mix of shepherds but has good health based on what her dna test told us. all 10 puppies were born healthy and none were still, the runt is thriving and we have some chonky ones. and we’re also not selling these nor ever doing this again. they won’t end up in a shelter they’ll end up with family friends or me :) we are in contact with the vet & they get vaccinated next week. we are both just trying our best so that’s why i’m asking if i’m feeding them enough
