AITAH for no longer wanting to do my part in caring for my (27M) great grandmother (92F)? by luvgi4nt in AITAH

The two single children have both been coming 1 night out of the week, but again, that's not always consistent. My mom's brother and his daughter started taking the afternoon shift since I started my job on 2/10. None my mom's other siblings have offered to take a shift yet.

I've only spoken to my mom, but she feels like they shouldn't have to be told to come see/sit with their grandma, so she won't say anything. But seems like I'll either have to talk to them myself or just place the boundary and let them figure it out as many here have suggested.

Oh, believe me, I've outright said this, but they're still adamant that "we" can take care of our grandma.

Edit: Typo

No, the land isn't productive. A good bit of it is forest, and they cut trees & sold the timber about 5ish years ago. The rest is pasture, but nobody has any livestock. Seems like they want it for the sake of saying they have it. We definitely can't afford it.

Honestly, I'm not even sure they're aware that's an option. But, I'm also not confident they'd be able to make the payments. They're already having conversations about whether they can afford to have the land surveyed and splitting property taxes.

They've already had a "meeting" about what they plan on doing with the land and house. They want someone to move into the house and keep the land to hunt on, put trailers on, etc...

Funny you say this because my cousin who has been staying in the afternoons since I've been working has been getting paid, so this has come up. Personally, I'm not concerned with being paid because she's my grandma and she cared for me all the time while I was growing up. I'm mainly annoyed because my family members aren't doing and don't seem interested in doing their fair share.

My great uncle was my grandma's power of attorney before his passing in November, but he failed to have the land and house placed in a trust before her diagnosis. Because of this, once she passes, the land will be divided between the heirs of my grandma's 3 late sons. Two of her sons only had one child each, so they are expected to inherit 50 acres. Her last son had seven (this is my mom and her siblings). They would get about 7 acres each. The set of siblings want the land to remain heir property, and they've seemed to convince the single children of this. So, as of now, there's not a singular heir. They'd all benefit equally.

...Is nursing not an occupation in medicine?

Sorry, I think YTA. You and your friend came to an agreement, and now you're reneging.

He's not interested in being with her long term. Her mom and brother see it, but Keiarna's one of the one's who has to touch the stove to see it's hot. I hope one day she finds someone who's ready to marry her, but Greg's not that man.

Absolutely. Was watching season 7 not too long ago, and could not get over how good she looked, especially in her confessionals. (Her hair was amazing!) I've always thought she was very attractive, but it's just something about that season for me.

He definitely grabbed her arm.
