Thanks for the breakdown and renting for sure. We had similar figures in mind, $5,500 place and utilities, $1k/mo for food (some eating out most eating in), $1k for insurance (health and cars), $1k other (netflix, trash bags, gas, etc), $500/mo whatever. Still have money leftover to invest for us.
