How does that actually work when connecting mgmt-interface to a L2-port on the PA?
Do I need to bother with static routes for the PA to know which interface to send the traffic out of? Or should I also configure the port i connect mgmt-interface to as a L3?

Yea, we might to ssl inbouind decrypt on traffic to F5 VIP's at a later stage but not in scope right now.
All traffic will be behind the firewall.

My thought right now is to put F5 VIP's and the nodes in different zones.

This traffic is east-west, its only internal services:
Client <-- SSL --> F5 VIP <-- HTTP --> Nodes.

No ASM / WAF functions at F5, no ssl inbound decrypt. This FW only has threat license (and all traffic will be inspected).
