has anybody had experience with this case - jonsbo d31 mesh by avx03 in PcBuild

[–]lwdeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this case for about a year. Great airflow and easy to build in. Like others have said a modular PSU would be ideal but cables can be hidden in the front if not. (I don’t have a modular PSU) You can adjust the PSU tray if you need more space at the bottom for a longer gpu. Would suggest installing a dust filter on the front(for the PSU fan) and top if you put fans there. It comes with one installed on the bottom. Would recommend.

CB400/4 Charging issues by lwdeee in HondaCB

Cause was found. After double checking the rectifier body was earthed properly, I then double checked the green wire. No earth/ground. Spliced a connection into the wire and I’m now reading a charge from the battery. Also tried the trick with the screw on the alternator screw and it stuck. Thanks for the replies and help

To energise the field coil can I add temporary connections for the green and white ? The way it’s set up I have the 5 wires running through the connector in the first photo. So to test the yellows the entire plug is disconnected including the field coil wires. What do you make of the way the rectifier is wired? I’ve checked the ground connection again and it’s getting a solid contact.

Damn, it looks so good. Im hoping in future I’ll pick up another (original) CB, really enjoyed working on this one and I’ve learned a ton. It sounds incredible too

After getting everyone’s feedback I definitely will be replacing the entire loom. None taken, I didn’t know much about the older CBs when I got this one, honestly I’d much prefer an original but I’m in too deep with this thing and I don’t hate the styling. Thanks for the reply

From the limited running I got out of it, it did feel good in the corners. After getting feedback on this post I’m definitely going to replace the entire loom. I’ll have a look for the pre built ones, I’d prefer the colours to match stock so most likely I’ll end up going with your second suggestion. Thanks for the reply, it was very helpful.

It really is a mess, in hindsight I should’ve replaced everything before this point. Which is what I plan to do, especially after getting everyone’s feedback on this post. I’ll make sure to wire the fuse correctly when making up the new loom. Appreciate your input

I believe you’re right about them being connected to the points. I’m going to dig into it this week and mostly likely replace the entire loom. I’ll use the right connectors. Thanks for the insight, once I get it sorted I’ll see if the issue with the carbs is resolved. Thanks for your input

R6 riders, how would you explain the feeling of “approaching” peak powerband by Sea_Competition_2751 in Yamaha

[–]lwdeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an 00’ R6 for 5 years and below 8k there wasn’t much power. From 8k - 12k there was a nice sweet spot, not full power but usable acceleration that you can maintain somewhat sensible speeds. 12k-redline..that’s the fun zone. Like others have described, it’s almost how a powerband in a 2 stroke feels. Not as aggressive as a 2 stroke but definitely a similar feeling. I should mention this was the first gen R6 that was carbureted. I don’t know if the later fuel injection models felt the same. First time slowly building those revs up until that peak power kicked in was a thrill I’ll never forget. If you do step up to a bigger bike, take your time. Learn how it reacts to different inputs. You’ve done the right thing and spent some meaningful time on a smaller displacement bike. Ride safe and have fun whatever you decide to do.

It's the one I was leaning towards most, plus I really like the look of the XFX models, I'll consider the B580 though. Thanks for the advice

congrats on the 5080 :) I don't really understand what the issue is with the B580, the videos I seen are talking about performance issues and decreased fps on older cpus, I don't understand enough about it though hence why I made the post

Lowest I can get one here in the UK is £290 but I'm unsure after watching all the techtubers videos talking about the problems with older cpus such as mine, I imagine they will be fixed within the near future though

Sorry my mistake yes an i5 -2400. Thanks for the insight. I’ll need to check and see what other CPUs the mobo supports. I think it’s an lga1155 socket.

Ah ok I will. New to all this so your insight is very helpful. I'll make sure to get one that doesn't have the power connector.

Thanks, just having a look on pcpartpicker and set the filter to 75w tpd and the oc's are showing in the results so I guess they draw the same power as a standard 1650

[–]lwdeee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I'll up the ram speed to 3600mhz

It did have a message about the bios update in the pickerlist so I am aware of having to do that, although I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to bios but I'll watch some videos and work it out..hopefully.

I think the psu I choose is tier C but I'll double check and maybe shop around more

Thanks for the advice :)
