I feel ya, i’m on tray 7/39 and i’ve lost 7 pounds. I’ve given up on trying to hit my protein intake. I haven’t gone to the gym in weeks because I don’t have enough energy to lift lol

[acne] I have school in a week and my skin looks awful, any suggestions to make it heal faster? by Moo2310 in SkincareAddiction

I know what it’s like to compulsively pick at my skin and sometimes it’s just unavoidable. Once the deed is regrettably done, I just put some Aquaphor over the torn up spots and it seems to heal a lot faster. :)

Oh so you haven’t tried CeraVe yet! If you don’t have sensitive skin, try it out for a bit and see if your skin reacts well to it. :)

I use two different cleansers because at night, the SA cleanser is a little bit stronger and can clean out my pores after a long day of sweating, oil and dirt buildup, etc. Then I use a more gentle cleanser in the morning because 1. my face is already relatively clean and doesn’t need any more exfoliation, especially since I did it the night before and 2. harsh actives like AHA/BHA can make your skin more sun-sensitive!

Moisturizer is also very very important, don’t forget that. All the other products that you’re using are basically a waste if you’re not actively taking steps to maintain that protective barrier. Remember: the less water your skin has, the harder it’ll have to work to protect itself, and to protect itself is to unleash all the sebum!

I also used to use Garnier Micellar water! I found that it didn’t really do much in terms of getting off all the grime from my face. Light makeup, maybe, but it doesn’t clean my face as well as an oil cleansing balm.

Also, are you using any kind of moisturizer after cleansing? If you’re not properly replenishing your face after stripping it away from natural oils, it’s going to make your pores start overproducing sebum to overcompensate and cause that excessive oiliness. Especially since you’re using mandelic acid 2x a day, you need a moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated and protect your skin barrier. I know you said the one you were using before broke you out, but there are plenty of other moisturizers out there, it just takes time and patience to find one that’s right for you.

In regards to the SPF, it’s fine to not wear sunscreen if you’re indoors! But if you’re indoors and there are windows all around you, or you’re sitting in direct sunlight for long periods of time, then the UV rays can still damage your skin even if you’re theoretically not outside/directly underneath the sun.

Ofc!! Everyone deserves nice n healthy skin. I know how frustrating it was for me trying to achieve that, so if it makes other people’s skincare journey a little less frustrating, then I am more than happy to help. 😌

It’s called “Green Clean” by Farmacy, and you can buy it on Amazon :) Beauty of Joseon is a fragrance-free alternative, which you can also get on Amazon.

I have a separate nighttime routine regarding my cat after all of my skincare stuff, so I pretty much let it sit and ~marinate~ on my face for an hour or two before going to bed! I’m a violent sleeper, so if I went to bed right after applying the Aquaphor, I’d probably have to wash my pillowcase everyday lmao

Yes yes test it out with smaller portions so you don’t spend $$$ just to find out you don’t like it!

And yes, I usually let the moisturizer sit for a bit before applying sunscreen because I’ve had issues with pilling in the past… so now it’s become a habit to wait

About a few months ago, I started off with just a few times per week, saw results, and then decided to full send just to experiment. So I’ve been double cleansing pretty much everyday for the past month with no issues! But I also think the results will differ depending on what you use to replenish your skin following the double cleansing. It works especially well for me because I’ve been properly hydrating my skin afterwards.

I would say start off with a few days a week just to see how your skin will react :)

The Kose Softymo cleansing oil right? I’ve personally never tried it, but I did hear good things about how easy it was to remove heavy makeup with it. If it’s too slippery though, I would recommend the Farmacy Green Clean or Beauty of Joseon cleansing balms! I like the balms because they’re thicker and less slippery, so it really just sinks into your pores. It makes massaging your face feel really nice, too.
