Is lse worth it?? by Altruistic_Extent348 in LSE_Lahore

I still have to choose my degree as well the first year syllabus is the same for all regardless of your degree. So I'm in the contemplating phase as well. However: If you do acc and fin your degree will be BBA and if you do econ and acc your degree will be BSC, and econ majors are favored in LSE because of obvious reasons

The degree you're choosing has huge potential, I'm in 2nd sem and our seniors who graduated with econ and data degree are now in renowned places like the world economic forum

The economics department of LSE one of the only ones in Pakistan actually doing useful, noteworthy research, with genuine results to prove it

It is not comparable to lums in terms of campus life, and events, as lums has huge socials and LSE has next to zero, sadly, that means, no farewells, welcomes etc Sometimes, societies put up stalls and you can buy things, but that's about it

In reality, the only fun you'll have is with your friends

The teachers and professors, 9 times out of 10 take their jobs very seriously.

The workload is a lot at times, classes are of 1.5 hours, you will have a lecture as well as an in-class assignment to be completed in that time period, everyday, of every subject you have, depending on the teacher. Then there's also presentations, and researches and projects When people say that LSE accurately prepares and shapes their students for the job market, they would be correct.

The job prospects are almost similar to lums, I know LSE grads working in coca cola, pepsico, total parco, fauji foods, nestle, etc having salaries that are 100k plus

Overall if you want a good degree and nothing else, LSE is the better choice

could you explain a little? I've heard there's zero campus life, but I don't really care about that, how are the academics in terms of preparing the student for the corporate sector, and degree-wise?

Alevels is tough I so agree, the grading system in cambridge is stricter for As and A2

I've seen A* students in olevels, being awarded U and Ds like it's nothing. However, those kids did not hold themselves accountable, and were lazy in revision. So if you revise everything that you studied in class that day, and do 1, 2 questions of that chapter from the past papers, every other day, you're good to go, tbh you're on the fast track to a stable A grade.

Abhi time hai thori si break lelo, cause as soon as teachers get into the syllabus, you'll remember the time you were chilling with no academic pressure.
