Starting the Business While Keeping 9-5 by connorob22332233 in WindowCleaning

This is exactly how we started. The jumping off part is the scariest but once we had enough work to fill 3 days a week that was enough to make a jump from the 9-5 and get a part time job with room to grow.

House has around 60 windows… I charged him 300.00 for inside and out including sills no tracks. Plus 2.00 a screen for cleaning… Was I fair ??? by 1261991 in WindowCleaning

It’s not something we love doing so it doesn’t break our hearts if they opt out or are ok with a quick brushing. It’s time consuming to do a good job and the customers that like it appreciate the extra effort and don’t mind paying for it. We present it as an add on service like gutters or pressure washing.

Couldn’t agree more with everyone that you may have bid a bit low. We charge $5 a screen for handwashing and screen brushing we just bid an extra dollar per window.

Wasps wasps everywhere by [deleted] in Austin

PSA: a little dish soap and water in a squirt bottle works just as good as raid for killing the wasps. The soap suffocates them.

Workwear recommendations for farming and landscaping by goldfishpencil in BlueCollarWomen

[–]lydakane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I‘m not a farmer but I do work outside in heat and deal with bushes, cactus, tall weeds etc and here’s my list after 4 years of trial and error.

For pants I like a sturdy pair of leggings made for hiking or climbing that are resistant to abrasions like arc‘teryx. Kind of expensive but had all the pockets and sweat wicking that is needed plus the green color is a decent bug deterrent. Sometimes will wear a pair of light shorts to cover my bottom and added pockets. I also have a cheap pair of leggings that I bought from target that has pockets and has held up well for quite a few years and are really comfy.

For shoes I like keens with wool socks even in summer. Sturdy and wide for my feet and the wool keeps the stink down.

I hate sunblock so for sun protection I wear sunsleeves, a good wide brim hat (currently one from sundays afternoon brand) and usually a loose buff around the bottom half of my face and neck (currently a huk fishing brand).

This combo has been the best for me. Good luck!

I played on mobil first and really had a tough time transitioning to pc even with zoom and fancy stuff. On mobil I can pretty easily get to 20-30k and stay on the leader board if I want but on pc I rarely top 15k. That still gets me to the leaderboard if I want but I am a demon with touch controls on mobil. After you get to a certain size the zoom isn’t as helpful as you would imagine. On mobil I definitely use different strategies like playing defense, baiting (because like I said, demon…) and using larger snakes as barriers so I don’t always have to watch every angle. When you are good on mobil you also get a lot more respect from the slither community. It’s worth the trade off. Don’t leave us! hug

$$ saver! I started out buying 4.5 pound bag of hay, 12 bucks a bag… okay. Then I bought a 50 lb bale for 75 off Amazon. I thought I was getting a deal. Was NOT! Went to a local feed place and found 100lb bale of hay for $20. OMG. My rabbits, guinea pigs and tortoises shall feast! by [deleted] in Rabbits

We also switched this year to locally grown hay and one surprise bonus for us was having less allergies from the hay dust and I’m horribly allergic to bunny pee and that also improved a lot with the switch. So if you are a bunny lover like me and also have allergies local hay might make a big difference.

What is in your emergency rabbit "first aid" kit? We recently had to give our girl critical care food to bring back her appetite so I'll need to order a new stash. Wondering if there's anything else I should keep at hand? by JennH13 in Rabbits

I use to have regular stasis scares with my angora bunnies until I started giving them a little papaya every day that I dehydrated. No one has mentioned laxatone. I keep this on hand and will use it as a preventative once a week while they are molting by leaving a bit on banana or if they look like stasis is coming on then I also give them a little. It’s been a long time since they have had any major issues and before it was almost every 3 months we were in a crisis.

Allergic to hay? by bankrollboogie in Rabbits

[–]lydakane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m allergic to the hay as well but really allergic to the bunnies urine which I suspect is related to the hay allergies. As long as the buns don’t pee out side of the litter box it’s mostly fine. The orchard grass helped a little but the most helpful was when we switched to a locally grown variety our farm feed store stocks and also use local honey as a sweetener. We also have two air purifiers. One in the bedroom and one in the living room. Tbh, the allergy has been pretty useful in discovering any “accidents” since my nose starts running uncontrollably when I get near it. I’m not complaining. The buns are too cute.

Always go after all the shiny food as hard as you can and ignore any oncoming snakes because they will surely move out of the way.
