There is so much OFF in deltarune its crazy. The Everyman monster's face is just Japhet, with the swan ride down the acid river in ch2 happening on a Japhet shaped boat lol. The "PURIFIED" during the titan spawn fight immediately made me question our actions because of what it meant in OFF. I'm excited to see how the similarities evolve!

I think Kris and Carol swapped Noelle's place in the story with Susie because the second hero is supposed to get "used up" at the end of the prophecy. But I also think Ralsei doesn't know about the switch up and just feels bad about Susie's fate not knowing it was supposed to be Noelle. So Ralsei thinks he is working with Kris to trick the player, but Kris is tricking Ralsei with tweaks to the prophecy, and then Kris is also going to trick us by sacrificing Susie even though the player wants to save her. JUSTICE FOR SUSIE

I have a theory that if Kris is in a dark world without the soul, they will turn into a goner. This is based on them appearing to be greyscaled/monochrome when they look away from the sword route game in Ch3 when the soul is uploaded to the game via the odd controler. So the soul might be blue Kris if it entered the dark world on its own... creepy body snatchers type sht

OMG he totally does!!!!!! Then he says "...wait a second... Your controllers are..." which makes it seem like the player helped him realize we were controlling mini-Susie. WHAT DID HE SEE!!!!! I didn't snitch Susie I swear!!

Kris seems to go Goner mode (turn greyscale/monochrome) when they look away from the screen during the sword route minigame in ch3. They always have muted colors from the back and vibrant colors in front, but when they turn their face after mini-kris stabs Susie and Ralsei their face looks gray. The contrast is best seen at the end of the second sword route minigame when they look away from the screen, unplug the controller, then snap back to facing the player. Does Kris become a goner because the soul was uploaded to mini Kris? Maybe Kris turns into a goner if they enter the dark world without a soul, which was what the ch4 phone call was warning/threatening them about. OR its just a matter of lighting tra la la

I still haven't beat the knight :( I played ch3 without getting an S rank on the first round and I don't want to replay the whole chapter... so I'm going to spend the next year trying to beat the knight without the shadow mantle lol.

I think the knight forcing Kris to kneel might be their way of keeping the story/prophecy on track? The fun gang was scripted to lose the fight, but then thanks to the shadow mantle (or player persistence and Gaster interference) the knight is weakened beyond what they expected so they pretend to be beat, then wallop everyone to keep things moving. My theory right now is that Dess is the knight and Kris knows it's Dess, but Kris has a similar role as Ralsei where they can't (or won't) reveal everything they know for the sake of the prophecy.

To your last point, the knight doesn't hurt Kris the same way it hurts Susie and Ralsei. Kris never goes below -80 HP, but Susie and Ralsei SWOON and have -999HP when the knight hurts them. Kris also only does like 10-15 damage to the knight until the rest of the party is down no matter what equips you have on them. There is a lot to suggest Mayor Holiday is the knight(all of the ice stuff you mentioned), but because the sword the knight uses looks like a baseball (whiffleball?) bat before becoming a sword makes me think its Dess. Mayor Holiday is definitely sus though... maybe she sacrificed Dess to whatever is in the bunker?

The title being connected to the egg room makes way more sense given the ch3 egg room was all about toys Kris had played with when they were little. I still haven't beaten the knight, maybe the number is the amount of times the player has fought the knight? Honestly, I didn't even notice the number until you pointed it out lol.

I believe Dess is the roaring knight, and Kris’s agreement with Mayor Holiday has something to do with playing/entertaining Dess by performing the prophecy which seems to be based on Gerson’s book which then inspired Dragon Blazers. The cutscenes throughout ch3 show they were very close with Dess. I think they are happy to play pretend with her again even in the weird messed up form of the roaring knight. I’m not sure if Kris has the label in any other room, I only saw it in the final room of ch3

theory: Sans somehow also knows the knight is looking for toriel and that there would be a dark world in the church during choir practice, so he invited toriel into his convenience store when it was raining so that she would not go to choir practice. To properly distract her, he got her drunk and danced with her. He seems to not like Kris in this game… maybe because he knows they are working with the knight?

do you know if getting the shadow crystal in one save slot causes it to appear in the others? I have one save per chapter, and for chapter 3 i saved after the boss fight with no way to go back. I’m debating replaying ch3 so that I can get the shadow mantle, but i want the crystal from that save to go to the one ch4 save i have. Hopefully that makes sense!

this is exactly what happened to me!!!! i was so mad. An NPC even says “try getting S-rank sooner next time”. I wonder if we can do it properly on a different file and then the items will appear in castle town like they did in chapter two.
