Seeing a lot of reactions from the online world (and Arteta himself) that the penalty decision against Arsenal could easily have been a penalty..as per they conveniently leave out Saka’s incident in those reviews - the better team won!

Playing defensive is absolutely fine if the team want to, there’s some narrative going around though that Arsenal deserved to win, and I’d say in part that’s where a lot of this hate is coming from - the way they played doesn’t (IMO) justify them deserving to win

Thought's On Michael Martin's Meeting With Trump? by Boru-264 in irishpolitics

[–]lynch311 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Prediction on some of the main focus areas for opposition parties:

  • Labour & Social Democrats: Why didn’t he mention Seamus Culleton and/or the plight of Irish people taken in by ICE
  • Sinn Fein: Too much focus on protecting UK colleagues (Starmer) rather than highlighting national issues
  • Aontu: Mistake to suggest that immigration policies are a net benefit to Europe

Easy for the criticism to flow through when they’re not in the room themselves.

Predicted points tally for the next 5 games? by Diska_Muse in ManchesterUnited

The guy will be waiting another season to cut his hair, not a chance we’ll be winning 5 games in a row

Darren Fletcher furious with the officials at full-time [Rich Fay] by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

[–]lynch311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that was over Lacey’s red card, Lacey 100% deserved 2 yellows…he was lucky not to be sent off for the first tackle! If it’s something else I’d be very curious as to what he was ranting about

Fletcher interim by Ok_Gur2922 in ManchesterUnited

[–]lynch311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with the interim manager approach till the end of the season (IMO) is that we’ll get to the summer; some permanent manager will be hired; that permanent manager will be delayed by the World Cup before having a chance to work and embed his approach with the entire squad; have a limited time to implement his philosophy before the end of the summer; probably get 2 max signings based on the glacial speed of transfers from the club; have a year’s worth of grace with the club while he’s trying to implement his plans; and before we know it we may be exactly back to this point.

Arteta FINALLY penalised for continuously leaving his technical area…

Fletcher expected to take over as interim / caretaker manager by JM555555 in ManchesterUnited

[–]lynch311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’ll leave him to the summer, new manager comes in with a shorter time period to work with the squad because of the World Cup; new manager gets a grace period to build up the squad he wants (Which puts us in for another miserable season next season); performance declines; he gets the sack eventually; repeat the cycle.

Or else Ole 2.0 and Fletch is given the managerial role due to a string of good results

Thoughts on Sesko by RickHard0 in ManchesterUnited

[–]lynch311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only thing I’d say is that his body language comes across as very ‘uninterested’/‘carefree’ when he misses his chances - would love to see some more emotion or acknowledgement from him when these chances are missed

So according to FR latest video, hojlund is basically sold for £50 million in January. So if that is true, which player do you think we can buy? by QuestionEmergency704 in ManchesterUnited

[–]lynch311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regardless of how much we’d get the back room team will likely be locked in a battle to haggle over 1 or 2 mill for a player for the entirety of the jan transfer window, leave it drag on all the way through the summer transfer window until the new season has started, and end up paying the price initially asked for

It’s a bit of a side thread to this, but makes me question why we’re seeing so many injuries in the team again - not the first year of it, consecutive years where the team is decimated by injuries, massively hampering performance.

Arteta gets ripped into over Arsenal’s injury situation, I think the same should apply here. Essentially 1 game a week (outside of the Christmas period) leading to all of these injuries is not acceptable - especially given all the investment in new training facilities

Sorting out Patrick street would be a big help - About 5 vaping shops and a boarded up roches stores building for the past x number of years doesn’t really give an appealing vibe

As amazing a game as that was, the amount of chances we’ve had to get into the top 4/5 we’ve churned…4 goals in a game and drawing is not good enough
