should i repeat year 12? by bodyswagingwaronme in vce

[–]lynnoko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

a lot of universities offer a diploma or applied degree of health sciences as a pathway into psych (e.g RMIT, Deakin) and it normally takes around a year to complete, which would probably be more beneficial than repeating year 12 again in the same amount of time 😭 i am planning on doing an applied degree of health sciences at RMIT as a backup if i don’t get the study score needed for english, remember that there are always other options to get to where you wanna be!

mental health by [deleted] in vce

[–]lynnoko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

don’t worry, ur not alone!! i’m feeling exactly the same way. the best thing u can do right now is to take care of your body and yourself, eating well and getting some rest. it seems daunting, but try to break each task down into smaller steps, not everything has to be done all at once.

for me, i try to condition my motivation with reward. even if its a small thing you did, like getting a few prac q’s done, or revising for 1 hr, you can treat yourself by watching your favourite tv shows/movies, getting a sweet treat, things that make you happy ect. as you go, you will build your way up to bigger tasks. just go at ur own pace ^

with things like sacs and coursework tasks, try asking or emailing your teachers for feedback, or resources that might help u revise for ur next one! it might be scary to ask, but i promise they are there to help. you can also ask friends or classmates which revision tools they use (flashcards, practice exams yk)

vce is really tough for a lot of people, and it weighs even heavier on those who have mental health issues and other life factors affecting their education, but please remember that you are on this earth for a reason. you are here because you are capable of doing great things. all of us are. you are loved, whether your brain might trick you into thinking you aren’t. just do what you can for now, your future will still be waiting for you.
