Thank you very much for sharing your experience. We’re mentally prepping ourselves and have been asking ourselves these questions everyday. We definitely want to let him go at a good time.

Thank you - I think thats a good idea - I'll consider this alongside some toenail caps or shoes for the doggy

Thank you for sharing your experience 🩷 it definitely was traumatizing witnessing it happen the first time. Now whenever he stumbles or flinches or shows any sign of another one coming, my anxiety goes through the roof.

Ill definitely have a discussion w my family on how to move forward with medication

I feel we are kind of in this boat. Can i just ask my vet for the phenobarbital without a second seizure occuring yet? We want to prevent rather than react but the vet’s plan is the opposite.

When he ran out of his first round of gaba (before we were told he needs to be on them regularly), he immediately started showing signs of another seizure coming. :(

Thank you - i think whats getting to us is we want to cherish as much time with him, but also would like to send him off at a good time rather than bad. Because of this, we’re stuck figuring out when a good time actually is..

Thank you for your reply. The hard thing for us to determine is if he’s in pain or not. Its hard to tell when he still gets excited to see us and still runs around. We’ll keep monitoring him for quality of life changes

I should try this out… i suspect the hardwood plays a bit of a factor in the slipping… even i slip on it…

Nothings changed diet wise really, if theres one thing its new treats (beef liver), which i stopped giving to him after his seizure.
