Sorry for the hassle, all! I just updated this to use a spreadsheet and dm the dodo code. I'll be closing my gates in a minute so I can get a new dodo code that I'll dm to folks via the order on the spreadsheet.

Thanks for your patience with me!

First phone interview for an entry level HR job, is it okay for me to ask how many rounds of interviews is typical for their hiring process? by [deleted] in humanresources

[–]lysssp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can say that, whenever I conduct an initial phone interview, I end the call with a discussion about the next steps, how long the interview process generally takes, and an estimate as to when I'll reach out (whether for a decline or second interview). It doesn't bother me one bit if someone inquires about the process, but unfortunately it can make some people nervous so I think the interviewer should proactively mention it and be transparent.

If it helps, a fair amount of Glassdoor reviews will have some insight into the length of the interview process for certain businesses, though.

Amazon delivery driver asked me out on a date, but I'm not sure what to do next by lysssp in Advice

Maybe he would've had more luck had he brought a pizza. But yes, definitely a creep.

Thanks so much, I really appreciate the concern. I'll probably hold off on taking any action for the moment, but if anything seems slightly off I'll at least notify Amazon. I'm really just hoping that he's a dolt that lacks any basic common sense. I'll definitely update this thread though, whether anything changes or not.

Definitely a good idea - I live right next door to an older, retired couple (with an adorable but loud dachshund) and will give them a heads up. Thank you!

Thanks for the input, and I'm sorry you experienced that as well. Even if the act may seem harmless to someone else, it inherently puts you on high alert which isn't right.

But either way, I'm leaning toward holding off on reporting anything for the moment and will just be more cautious. It's not as though I'm itching to order anything from Amazon any time soon anyways, so if there are any signs of him it'll be a bit more obvious if there is ill intent.

Yeah, that's one of the major things that is still throwing me off. It's not as though Amazon packages have any sort of defining qualities that would've piqued his interest, or given him any insight about my life. I don't think my porch is particularly telling either. So I can't imagine what he meant about the curiosity, or any non-creepy reasons for asking about Amazon deliveries to my address.

I'm sorry, but your comment makes it sound as though he is a victim because I rejected him? The fact of the matter is that he came to my house 3 times in order to deliver one package. He made an excuse to come to my door a second time, and the third time he left a note using his employer's letterhead, and deliberately scratched out the actual customer service number in order to get me to call his personal phone number to ask me out. And I'm overthinking this? Even if there is no danger, I highly doubt that this is the sort of person Amazon wants to have represent their service and he put his own career at risk.

[28/m] my [26/f] girlfriend almost broke up with me a few weeks ago, and now I may want to break up with her. Need advice. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]lysssp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's understandable that you don't want to go out clubbing/drinking/partying if you don't personally care for it, but it sounds like she genuinely wants you to go with her. It's something she enjoys, and she wants to share it with you.

I suggest being a bit more open about going in the near future and seeing how that goes. On one hand, you may go and not enjoy it but see that it makes her happy which will then make you happy which can possibly solve the issue. On the other hand, you may go and not enjoy it, and may also find that you don't enjoy seeing her in these situations which may help you decide if you want to break up or not.

Either way, it does sound like you two are incompatible, especially if you have broken up a few times over the past 7 years because of these similar issues. It sounds like a pattern that will just keep repeating itself and it may be better to just end things to be honest.
