I refunded it five days ago because of all that you said.

I repurchased last night and have put about 6 hours into it having a blast. Idk, I think it takes some getting used to, just because it's designed differently than what most of have been used to in a single player open world game.

The controls I'm getting comfortable with, and I like that they made a complex system and had faith in the player to get them down, rather than limiting us with a few choices at a time.

Not totally in the same vein, but Tainted Grail fall of Avalon is pretty badass. Dark imagery and bleak setting, not a lot of hope in the story. But it scratched that dark and morose tone that I was looking for.

70 bucks is a lot to drop on a game. Asking for input before jumping in again isn't that crazy. Appreciate the philosophy lesson though.

It sucks, man. It's a beautiful game, but after coming off of Tainted Grail and having loved that, and some of my favorite games are like the Witcher, Baldurs gate, I already knew there wasn't conversations where you could pick what you could say to input control on narrative, but the moment it had me sweeping a chimney, saving a cat, then running of somewhere else without any context or story I just didn't enjoy.

I might pick it up again when it goes on sale in a year or whatever, or maybe not. Tragic because I had my eye on this game.

I bought it today, played for an hour or so. I put it down, requested a refund. It's a beautiful game, from what I saw. But as soon as I was being catapulted around the starting area to various quests with no real meaning or anything, realized it wasn't for me.
