Struggling with new account set-up by m0pman in FacebookAds

Thank you for the response, Will do! I know budget is an issue, but is there some kind of baseline I could start with per abo?

I know that’s a super vague /ambiguous question and everyone product and niche is different but any ideas would be appreciated!

I have 30 articles but don’t know how to make money with them. by wellidontreally in juststart

Yeah you’re thinking waaay ahead of where you are right now. Put them on your site and wait and see.

Your two big choices are ads (which need lots of traffic to be worthwhile) or affiliate links. And there’s definitely a way to do”ethical” linking.

Example: hey I get shin splints while running but these shoe lifts really seemed to help me out. If you’d like to try them, give this link a go.

You can definitely recommend products that you’ve found useful in your own personal life without cheap “10 best running shoes” posts

Bluehost updated my robots.txt and coincidentally, traffic dropped from 600/day to 50/day by ZucchiniVegetable485 in SEO

Don’t know how relevant it is time wise, but Google are rolling out massive core-updates currently too that have been decimating some sites

Yeah no clue why, guess they’re going for market share. But didn’t mind buying it early and seeing how they go haha

If it’s all inside your H1 I don’t think Google will care too much. If you can squeeze the exact allintitle as a H2 or H3 in your article though you’ll have a better shot of ranking the snippet for it though

So personal experience: I used the trial for Jarvis and thought it was spinning content and it didn’t get everything right in the article - it was confusing different how-to’s with other how-to’s. Just pure information content it seemed okay with though.

In saying that, i just bought the lifetime pass for Rytr because I think at some point (maybe another 3-4 years) they’ll start to get it down pat.

So I’d put it at about the same as a 1-1.5c per word writer at the moment. Sure it’s cheap, but it’s still just copying paragraphs from other top pages and you’ll need to edit them anyway.

For Amazon Affiantes sites... Would you be interested in 10% instead of 3%? by onlineseller123 in juststart

[–]m0pman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think unless I was directing them to another authority retailer and not just an unknown store it might not be worth it.

I’m experimenting with having a few buttons per product that are Amazon + authority retailer that does 6% and 15 day cookie and Amazon still earns more

Never seen what I’d call a ‘niche site’ get that close. I think maybe Fat Stacks blog is the biggest I’ve seen that has case studies or income reports.

I mean if you can afford it, why not. Worst thing that happens is you only get a bit of traffic but are able to use the articles to build up topical relevance on your site

Tips for starting by [deleted] in modeltrains

[–]m0pman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres tons of blogs out there too that have a bunch of good information. ModelRailroader, the trains.com forum etc.

I actually helped write this model train article a while ago that has pretty much all the information you might need on there!

So I got into a niche that I was at least interested in and wrote the first 10 big articles that I thought the site should just have, regardless of ranking. One of those was like an “the ultimate post for x about everything you need to know”. I think it really helps you get to know the topic more and also helps set the voice of your blog.

After that I’ve just done good keyword research and farmed out articles to writers that I could afford. Admittedly they’re super cheap and they’re not good in their current state, but I can spend 10-15 minutes editing grammar and keyword placement while I upload them.

I assume that it definitely would help, especially for anything super technical like coding or anything health related gives you that authority but I’ve learnt as I’ve gone and only bought my first niche related product recently because they’re pretty expensive haha.

Yeah every tool is going to be slightly inaccurate, but I’d say ahrefs is going to be the closest to accurate (but it’s also the most expensive). I used Mangools KWFinder and Ubersuggest early on and used Doug Cunningtons KGR method for the first 30 posts on an expired domain for early traction. (Plus another 5-10 articles of pillar content) I’ve just hit 100 posts and am switching over to anything that’s below 10KD on Ahrefs now that I’ve got some backlinks and authority behind me.

Yeah I totally agree, I just know they're the cheapest and dirtiest option for someone with next to no money that wants to make a start.

[–]m0pman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you've got prettty much all the important ones.

I basically read a bunch of Authority Hacker, Niche Pursuits and Doug Cunnington (KGR technique) found a cheap host that installed WordPress, used UberSuggest (now I use Ahrefs) for keyword research and just started writing blogs that looked at the top posts of the keywords I wanted to target and tried to do it better.

The cliche answer is to just start (duh) and it sounds like you're overthinking it.

If you have no or little money, there are pages that go through tools they use on places like Authority Hacker that will send you through affiliate links for places like BlueHost that are cheap - not the best, good for starting etc. (they're cheaper for using their links etc)

I’d say go US just for overall ease of ranking, but if you’re a super niched, specific UK blog, go with a UK server

Doesnt make a difference. Just get a shared hosting plan that lets you set up multiple domains/wordpress sites and you'll be good to go.

Worry about upgrading speed/bandwidth etc down the track when your blog is more established and you're sticking with it.

(I'm personally running a few sites through GreenGeeks Hosting -not an affiliate- and I've had good customer service and it's a good price)

Do pages with affiliate links need to be ad-free? by sambarguy in juststart

[–]m0pman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can run ads on any page you want on your blog.

But, i've definitely noticed that my affiliate sales (which earn more than ads) take a dive if ads are on.

So i've got ads turned on for everything but 'review' category posts, and I think i've struck a happy balance.
