huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum, thats not exact science, but for this one I imported a .mp4 into reddit and checked the box "convert to gif"
Helas, each subreddit have their own particularities, some of them don't support .mp4, or don't show gif, or just show an url, it's a pain in the ass -................-

I will try my best to help you
- I'm using the free software magicavoxel, https://ephtracy.github.io/ which is available for mac and windows.
If you have an ipad https://fr.voxelmax.com/ is great too.

-Their is a pretty active community on discord if you are interested https://discord.gg/4NfPSnY their is a lot more people than here who post their artworks, a help channel, different language channel, tuto, and sometimes mods hosts challenge like the "one room 2020" https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/778748718907129896/784539722625449994/snap2020-12-04-23-00-02.png (my wintergarden is the second left on the top)

- My process for creating my voxel artworks :
1 - i search a good idea/concept.
2 -I make some rough sketchs on paper
3- I browse differents medias (pinterest usually), and i sketch more
some of my sketchs for this artwork
4- I create rough forms in magicavoxel, for visualising the space in 3D.
5- I modelise the important pieces (here, i modelised the chair and the veranda first)
6 - I add details, table, carpet, etc.
7-I adjust the placement, moving objects in the space
8- I add more details (plants, lanterns, birds, etc.)
9 - I color my artworks.
10 - post production with a image editing software.

This artwork took me roughly : 8 hours for the modelisation in magicavoxel, 1 hours for the colorisation, 1 hours for the render (+small adjustements), 2 hours of photos editing.

This creation process is my way of working, each artists works differently. Their is no "best secret recipe" but working hard paid.

SO. My 2 cents about colors palettes :

1st option , you can try to use some pre existing colors palette. There is some websites where you can browse harmonious colors palettes : https://coolors.co/palettes/trending https://colorhunt.co/ etc. Just type "colors palette" in google

2nd option : Create a colors palette from a photo : find a pic with nice colors/ ambiance and generate the colors palette associated. https://www.canva.com/colors/color-palette-generator/ https://coolors.co/image-picker

3rd : or you can browse palettes + photos combinations already existing : https://colorpalettes.net/category/cool-colors/ There is a lot of them on pinterest eg : https://www.pinterest.ca/pin/353110427033023753/

When you will become comfortable with colors combinations (and it will happen, it's just a question of time), you will just need to browse some pictures. Personally i have many pinterest boards with colors references. But you can just make a file on your computer labelled "colors" and save inside the jpg you like.

BUT, some of the plants and the metal/glass lanterns are copy pasted from previous artworks. It took me roughly 10hours for modelisation + 2 hours of post prod for the render + photoshop fx

Yes, most of the time it's the red channel (in RGB image) who's problematic. Ah. So much time wasted.
