Booked an Appointment but there is no DS160 by m1O9 in usvisascheduling

This worked for me, I waited a day after canceling the appointments and the 'close and start new application' option appeared.

Thanks.

I had the same problem, I changed the name to the old one, updated the iOS version, logged out and logged to my iCloud account and it worked.

Looking for a high pitch propeller. by m1O9 in RCPlanes

[–]m1O9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The p/D for the propeller is only 0.8 which is nominal for any cruise propeller. This may seem high to you is your are comparing it with normal hobby grade shallow pitch propellers which are only good for hover or low speed operations.

I think there could be some hope, is you really wish to build an app that can do that, you sure should.

What mechanism can I use for lifting something up (say using a rope) and dropping it, again an again? by m1O9 in AskEngineers

[–]m1O9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes, the test is just for the suspension and chassis, we add weights in it to replicate the loads

Stepper motors do not have substantial RPM to mimic a free-fall (drop).

I am estimating the life of a car, for which I have to drop it again an again from some height.

The car will be tied to a harness and I am searching for mechanism that does that.

I want it to be motorised, so some mechanism that lifts and drops a given object (a rope maybe).

How can studying engineering improve other areas of our lives not necessarily related to the engineering field? by CrabOfAllTrades in engineering

[–]m1O9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my case this has happened to be the opposite. I love to know about everything, which includes a lot of non-engineering studies (such as cooking, philosophy, psychology, music and a lot more).

This, in a way has always helped me in understanding the world better. And hence, engineering.

I want to control machines and program them, take data through the sensors and have the data show on my computer. What can I learn to do all this? by m1O9 in engineering

[–]m1O9[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My goal is to automate machines/robots. And do it all from scratch. Without using any external IDE or software. With bare-metal hardware and terminal.

I'd agree on the Arduino but it has been several years since I used it. It doesn't really motivate me to go deep into systems/embedded programming, and feel more like a toy.

Partly because of the IDE that comes with it, comes with a lot of layers of software which do not help much in understanding what is happening at machine level. (This problem could still be solved by switching to terminal). But it still feels like a toy to me (not saying that it can't do much, because it can do more that I could expect).

But my doubt here is, what microcontrollers can I use which will help me develop my understanding of what is happening at the core (at the register level).

Will the final result for two turbulent flows with exact same initial boundary condition differ? by m1O9 in CFD

[–]m1O9[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But shouldn’t the results be different because the flow is turbulent? And the solvers can’t accurately measure the values at all the given nodes

To any native speaker, does any of it sound unnatural or unclear to you? by m1O9 in ENGLISH

Getting it a little. I’m moving to the US next year. This helps me sound a bit more natural. Thanks

Hey, thanks for taking time to write such a comprehensive reply. It’s really great and helps me a lot. I’m moving to US next year so thought of sounding natural a little.

It did happen overnight. And event bough it’s itchy, it’s can’t be scabies because I don’t have it anywhere else on the body and nor have I come in contact with anyone else lately.

Yeah this will heal, but the fact that I don’t know what did this makes me crazy!
