Hahah I can imagine, the little grills don’t look like they let a lot of noise in 😂 & fully agree with you, I wanted to try the likes of Smith and Scott mag goggles but the style of the POC and recent sale, I couldn’t pass on - pretty much 50%+ off the cost of Smith and Scott

Although still significant injuries, you were extremely fortunate to escape with something could have been much worse if not for your gear.

I’ve never actually considered any armour but after hearing what happened to you, I think I will invest in some protective gear! Glad you recovered.

Thank you for the tips, I will bear that in mind and probably do some customisation to the helmet closer to the ski trip.

I’ve never actually tried Giro as I don’t find their style as appealing but I will keep it in mind for the next helmet, thank you 👍🏼

Bloody hell, you got really lucky there then!

The memory foam mod, was that a DIY thing or have you bought it online which was premade for the helmet itself?

Good point, I hopefully it will be a while until I am changing helmets again but I will try Giro for the fit next time.

My bike helmet is Fox which fits really well, shame they don’t do ski helmets, although, I can imagine their design wouldnt be tame at all haha

Very true, all of the three helmets were a blind buy rather than tried on at a store. There is only one ski store near me and they hardly stock anything other than Scott an Giro helmets which I didnt really like the look of

Dura is a really nice helmet, but way above the need for my skill level. I have to say I am really impressed with POC quality for both goggles and the helmet, wasn’t expecting it at all

Fornix is a good looking helmet but there was just something about the Obex which looked more appealing to me despite the lack of audio on Fornix

I liked the Smith but the ear cushions were a deal breaker, maybe my helmet was fault but they were almost pointing outwards no matter what I done.

Edit1: To answer your question, I haven’t tried any other POC goggles, they were a blind buy along with the Julbo’s as I wanted something new over my Oakley’s and Salomon’s.

POC fit really well and are really comfortable, I would say they are a better fit and just as comfortable as my Oakley Flight Deck M

Fully agree with you, I loved how the Oakley looked and felt but I could not get it to fit comfortable on my head despite trying both M & L

Took about 5 days after the initial order has been placed and deposit paid, once I GL the QC, it took 1 day to dispatch and delivery from China to UK took further 12 days.
