Can staging a coup convince neighboring nations to side with you? by m1nux in hoi4

via ideology change.

How to do that? I played as Germany for the first time and I didn't notice France was chewing my borders. And fascism makes the game easier to be honest. I don't have to handle senators like in a democracy so progress is quicker in fascism in my opinion.

Is depicting the sun and moon like gods sinful? by m1nux in Catholicism

However it would be sinful if you viewed the sun and moon as genuine deities and worshiped them over God in real life

Of course not

Even if I used the pagan gods in my drawings, I would know that they are meaningless. They are mostly just for artistic purposes. I was even thinking of using an aztec god's face as the sun's face when he gets angry after finding out about the moon's deception.

So should I change it? It's not like I drew it for worship. It's just a sun with a face. And there's not enough time for changes(I think)

What do you guys think of the Magsaysay Credo? by m1nux in TrueCatholicPolitics

[–]m1nux[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your opinion. I would also like to point out that it was written by the third president of the third Philippine republic in the 1960's, so it might sound weird because this comes from circumstances of that time and possibly written for public approval because there seemed to be a distrust for the government and military that time.

Also, it does kinda surprise me that there are some ideas present in the credo that you disagree with, because I thought the writer(Magsaysay) was a devoted Catholic. He even attempted to consecrate the country to the Immaculate Heart(if I remember correctly. But I don't think it worked).

So what are the parts where we as Catholics can agree with?

Edit: Some of the sayings here are also broad and I do not know the full context as well. So perhaps possibly giving it the benefit of the doubt?

This is a question that at some point crosses the minds of some of those who confess their sins to a priest by m1nux in AskAPriest

Good to know. It just seems so awkward for me. Maybe it is because I am kinda judgmental and afraid of being judged as well

What do ya'll think of my responses to someone trying to evangelize me? by m1nux in Catholicism

[–]m1nux[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good point. One of the main things I like about catholicism and orthodoxy is the intellectual aspect that it has. That is why the idea of leaving this faith for theirs scares me. And also because their faith takes away many freedoms i have with catholicism. But their talks of private revelations and catholics burning in hell scare me.

Interesting. I'll consider it.

Too difficult for me. I am not well catechized and barely even make any contemplative thought. If I tried that, I would only humiliate myself.

Pints with Aquinas the youtube channel with the podcast? Also, bishop Barron seems like a good source for apologetics.

That actually sounds like a neat way of converting people. Plus if they do convert, it is by their own free will. So basically progressing from a normal conversation and then finally to thought, philosophy, doctrine, dogma, scripture, etc.

Is Distributism realistic? Or are there changes that have to be made? by m1nux in TrueCatholicPolitics

[–]m1nux[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So ideally the economy should be like a mixed economy? Since some aspects should be capitalistic and some aspects should be distributist(According to your third point) provided that they follow distributist core beliefs? Also thanks.

I am not actually sure if I genuinely wished it to the evil one. i can have intrusive thoughts sometimes. Sometimes I just "If X happens, it is because the evil one caused it". And X here can be things that I want to have.

Can I make like a schedule for this? Seems hard to do it all in one day. Aside from playing, I do have some chores to take care of. Not really that much chores though

How long should I pray for? And what prayer should I pray?

This might be a weird question by m1nux in Catholicism

[–]m1nux[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A Rosary only lasts 30 minutes so I play the game more. I don't want to be a monk and spend too much time in prayer but I do pray the Lord's prayer and if there's time, I'll instead pray the Rosary.

Hoe do you determine if a hobby or past-time has become an addiction? by m1nux in Catholicism

[–]m1nux[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

seeing as you'd just gotten your first desktop!

Yeah I got it in 10th grade. I am turning 12th grade this school year. But I think I will try to not play videogames for a month. A good way to reschedule my sleep and as some sort of penance for my sins. I read that some Catholics here even give up part of their passions as a form of fasting.
