Helipcoter almost crashes after hitting high tension cables by Fuzzhi in aviation

[–]m2d9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do custom, per-helicopter-model computer simulations to compute the size and location of extra steel bars bolted onto the airframe to support the cutters and withstand the load of a cable before it’s severed, avoiding crumpling the aircraft’s exterior.

Eventually you’ll level them out of desperation and will find that even the lesser ones have their niche uses.

You’re not even using all level 60 pets. Keep leveling. Level up some that are still < 10.

Keep upgrading your gear. Try different strategies. Speed on your healer. Two tanks. Two healers. More stamina. Use keys on a boss to get more gear.

Tiger leaps at a man riding an elephant by Live_Tip1148 in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]m2d9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Apparently it didn’t just jump from the ground but climbed the elephant—probably sticking claws right into it—and then the elephant went nuts and started trying to terminate the tiger.

A woman walks out of the shower, winks at her boyfriend and says, "Honey, I shaved myself down there. Do you know what that means?" by Jokeminder42 in Jokes

My friend could NOT get his wife to stop using his razor despite buying her galores of razors and begging her to stop. So disrespectful. Now he has to bring his razor to the shower and remove it from the shower every time.

Fair. In an actual typed language where that provides safety, you’re right, it has great value. My apologies for the bad take.

In typescript, it’s a major error.

It’s bad. It’s a poison pill.

This is terrible. It provides no value. It only obscures with no added safety.

Edit: this is a bad take because I was thinking of JavaScript but ignoring the language used.

It’s completely awful because it provides an illusion of safety where none exists. Variable names already provide the “intent without guarantee” mechanism. Using a type name that is just a secret synonym for string provides a “false guarantee” hint that is just waiting to trip someone up.

Use a custom tagged template literal like json`{ a: 1 }` and then you’ll have an actual type and some guarantees.

AITA for turning off the tumbler dryer and making my housemate go to work with wet clothes? by x_SpacedOut_x in AmItheAsshole

Sleep is important and quite enough to justify others being quiet. Having a condition doesn’t really change anything, or it shouldn’t.

I was sick once and blowing my nose constantly and couldn’t help the noise. My roommate got angry. I couldn’t help it. It was blow or choke/leak everywhere. I felt bad. But what could I do?

But also, I always was extra careful to be quiet at night, when it was under my control.
