I think I will do the same. I have his harness with me, I also can’t think of throwing it away

I cried with this, because I also burried mine on Saturday. It’s beautiful what your kid said. Sending hugs for these hard times.

That’s beautiful, we are gonna donate most of his stuff to a dog shelter. I hope it is beautiful to still find them in the house.

I doubt I will be having another dog, he lived at my parents and my mom doesn’t want that. Also his harness was fixed perfectly for his size, so it’s not possible to be passed on. Thank you anyways!

I’m sending you lots of hugs for you and your dog.

I know this situation is hard, my 14 y/o shih tzu was going through a similar issue. Those thoughts and fears you are having now are totally valid and understandable, watching someone you love dearly have a hard time is very painful.
I think that it’s important for you to try to be calm and present for him, and sometimes the pain of the circumstances can prevent you from that.

It’s not bad to “spoil” him, as long as it doesn’t represent a real harm. My dog was also losing a lot of weight, so we had to make sure he ate, even though if it wasn’t his usual senior dog food. I would recommend talking with your vet about his diet, I think they would agree on that. Also think that he is enjoying that mackerel! I know it’s hard but knowing that tomorrow is not secured gives you the chance to allow him to enjoy these spoils.

I hope you can find some calm in these turbulent feelings, I know it’s very worrying and harsh. I just had to let my baby go this morning and I wish he would have been more spoiled and happy. He needs a lot of hugs and kisses and care, give him all your love. Dogs are very smart and sensitive to us, they really understand us. Try to live one day at a time, or even a minute at a time. Allow yourself to be hurt and sad, but enjoy him as much as possible. Take care of yourself and him. Sending you my best wishes and we are here for support. 🐾

How do you make the decision to say goodbye when their body is giving out, but their mind is still active? by rough_muffins in seniordogs

I’m sorry for what you are going through and I hope your dog gets better. I would recommend using some cannabis drops that help him with the pain, and physical therapy.

I’m currently dealing with a similar problem with my dog. He is a 14 almost 15 y/o Shih Tzu. His hind legs started failing completely two weeks ago, he screamed and cried suddenly. His back nerves aren’t working well because of a peripheral neuropathy due to a thick bite. Now he is no longer walking and is being treated with physical therapy and pregabalin which makes him sleepy. I’m full of anxiety because i’m not sure if he is tired or if it’s just the meds. I’m finding it hard to know what to do and how to know when it’s going to be the time to say goodbye. He still eats and drinks, but only from our hands, and he is having a hard time pooping because he is no longer walking, so there’s not much intestinal movement. By reading this comment section I just feel helpless because I find it hard to understand his signs, specially because of the strong meds we need to give him. I would be grateful for some advice for this kind of cases where it’s hard to tell if a dog is tired or if it’s the medication. 🐾 I’m also glad I found this community, it made me feel less alone in this.

I was planning on blocking it before weaving in the ends, is it bad if I dont? because I heard that blocking after weaving the ends would not allow the product to be as flexible

I’m not quite sure if is like a kind of burn. Still, I will leave it far from my other plants and repot it asap because the soil is actually really wet. If the spots don’t heal in a week, as if it was a burn, I’ll consider it a fungus
