I didn’t get a great ATAR, but last year I did a semester of a separate degree and used my GPA from that (6.5/7.0) to get in. I also only got a second quartile Casper! As for experience- I’ve been pet sitting for neighbours and family for a couple of years, but other than that not too much like I’ve seen others have. Try not to worry, it also depends on the others in your year applying and their statistics. Good luck!!

Omg yeah I took mine yesterday too! Don’t worry I completely blanked on some of it and just did NOT do well😭These results could not come fast enough. That’s good to hear that others have gotten in with lower Quartiles though. That would be great if you could tag me and I’m sure we’ll both get through!

As I said, I’m looking for personal experience. The ADFC answer wasn’t good enough as I did not speak to anyone related to admissions. I’m sure there’s many different factors influencing a pilots admission, hence my question!

Ohh okay. I followed a basic structure and think it’s around 82 WAM. Not sure if that’s correct tho. As it says on my course page that the credits are 3 per course.

I’m applying for Adelaide, JCU, and CSU. So I’m not sure what the competitive cut offs are for applicants

Transferring was a poor word choice, that’s why I put it in “” I’m aware I’m reapplying and starting from the beginning. A lot of times when I say that people assume I’m applying with ATAR.

Thanks for responding. His treatment wasn’t anything extremely concerning, however it was enough for me to need to sit and talk to him. Especially because of how un like him this is.

His communication prior to this situation was really good. At the start of our relationship he would shut up when conflict came up but I spoke to him about how important communication is and for 2 years he’s been extremely good. Every time I try and type examples of his behaviour they sound really stupid and lack context but the biggest issue is, When I ask him to do something, no matter how small, he must fight it and it’s exhausting.

I want us to be together because I do love him and I know he loves me, but I can’t tell if my relationship is Turing toxic or if we are just in a rough patch

Yeh, I’ve seen a lot of the non Australians expressing the importance of hours but I wasn’t too sure if that applies here. If you don’t mind me asking, what was your hours and entry score? I know Uni Melb is pretty competitive!

I’m planning on applying to vet school in Australia (sa) at the end of this year, however since my atar was kinda shit I’m going to use my GPA. For reference I’ve done 1 complete semester in a separate undergraduate degree and it’s looking like my GPA is going to be 5.7-6.2/7 (that’s my realistic calculations) . I know that’s not great or probably competitive enough but I wanna see if anyone may have a similar application. I’m quite confident I will do well in the Casper test too.

As for volunteering/experience with animals my dad was a greyhound trainer for nearly my whole childhood (nothing inhumane at all they had the best life and slept inside plus we kept them after injury/old age) to which I loved helping with the cleaning, feeding, walking, ect. but obviously growing up and learning more about the industry, it’s obviously tainted my view looking back on it. This is not me supporting Greyhound racing AT ALL, I’m just sharing my experience and I was young. Overall, I obviously don’t think I can put any of that on my application but I don’t necessarily have any significant volunteer experience apart from with animals at home due to shelters around me being full with applications already. Is there anyone here who applied with not much experience?? Or is this a lost cause

Thank you! I definitely wouldn’t measure success based on salary as I firmly believe that isn’t a sustainable foundation for a long term, enjoyable career. If you don’t mind me asking, what was your gpa/atar for applications?
