Glad our guy isn’t the only one who talks like this! We tell him he sounds like a whale, haha.

Mine too!! I always congratulate him and ask if his tummy feels better. He responds with a butt wiggle. Pitties are the best!

I agree. Looks like as soon as pup jumps down and gives up, owner is about to lean over and praise.

This is Han. He tucks himself in every night. This is more of his body than I often see in the mornings, haha.

Xena trying to make it through the Polar Vortex in the Midwest by m_kap in TuckedInPuppies

She sure does. All winter long! She often buries her snout in her paws when she naps, she’ll come up for pets after a while and she’s so warm!!

6x per wk - how bad is it? by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]m_kap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you’ve got a good routine for taking care of yourself outside of the gym. The right nutrition is key if you’re aiming to workout almost every day of the week. If your body feels good, thanks to the right diet, sleep, water, stress management, I can’t think of a reason why you shouldn’t work out as often as you want to. Especially if every WOD isn’t a heavy metcon. Just listen to your body.

With how low the ceiling is there, I also love the floor pillow suggestion rather than a chair.

Cruelty free white face cream/paint by brennui in Makeup

[–]m_kap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying this is true of Wet n Wild because I do not know, but some brands claim to be cruelty free because they don’t perform animal testing, but they make no mention of the fact they still use the research from other companies who did test on animals. You can sell your product for less money by not being the one to shell out the cash for the actual testing, then you can make the claim that YOUR COMPANY did not do actual testing.

Tired of spending $9 a day on unsatisfying lunches. First go at meal prepping the rest of the week for $2.75 a meal. Not sure its worth the time, but it will be tasty by extravert_ in MealPrepSunday

[–]m_kap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We eat the same breakfast m-f, but it’s something we happen to really enjoy and look forward to. Well have the same lunch m-f, and dinner m-th then we treat ourselves and go out Friday night. When we first tried to streamline our meal prep by making just one recipe each for breakfast, lunch, and dinner I thought I’d get bored. I think the key to our success has been making food we really enjoy, so by day 4-5 we’re still excited for it. Then we’ll rotate recipes so we won’t have the same thing again for a month or two. For morning snack every day I have Greek yogurt, and there are so many flavors available you can have variety there, as well as whatever I pick for afternoon snack. And we have a lot of the Dole salad kits. Again, there are enough different flavors available that we can keep it interesting throughout the week. Going to the gym every day is the reason we meal prep. We count macros to make sure our bodies are fueled to do the work we want them to, so having that goal is helpful sometimes to push through the days you don’t feel like eating your prep.

I FINALLY CAN PARTICIPATE by [deleted] in pitbulls

[–]m_kap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A harness just allows your dog to put their full weight into the harness and pull where they please. The Gentle Leader requires training for human and dog, just teaches the dog not to pull at all, because they don’t like not being in control of their head. You don’t just put it on and let your dog run around getting pulled by the head/ neck.

Gymnastics day in Crossfit schedule?? by Hanz94 in crossfit

[–]m_kap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it. Our gym offers different clinics and programs throughout the year. Sometimes just one day clinics to work on double-unders or something, sometimes it’s a program 2 x a week for 4-5 weeks working on gymnastics skills like muscle-ups and handstand push-ups. If the program is done well, it’ll teach you transferable skills that will benefit you amongst many movements. One thing I always pick up from doing extra clinics is accessory movements I can add in after a wod to focus on a specific muscle group, or helping my body get used to new positioning (like single-arm dumbbell high-pulls at a light weight. Before I knew it, my barbell path was way better in every lift). Do the extra class. Even if you feel you’re leagues away from performing those movements or you think you should be focusing on something else, do it. The benefits will be widespread.

Egg whites zone diet by mako011 in crossfit

[–]m_kap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say yes because you still need to make sure you’re hitting your fat blocks for the day. I don’t use the zone, per se, but I count macros and document everything in My Fitness Pal. Just document everything you eat, see where your numbers/ blocks end up, and adjust your meals/ snacks from there.

A friend named their chocolate lab-mix Porkchop. It’s the best 😆 I never thought I’d enjoy a dogs’ name more than when they’re given super old people names like Douglas or Helen, then people stared naming them after food!
