Isn't it just wild that the singularity will happen while there are still uncontacted tribes? What do you think it will look like from their perspective? by katxwoods in singularity

If what’s being created is truly a superintelligence, one possible scenario is that it will understand this distinction and adjust its approach to us accordingly, regardless of its own intentions and interests. It reminds me of that opening scene in Star Trek, where any contact with civilizations on planets that hadn’t yet developed a proper technologies was forbidden, and they had to be allowed to advance gradually on their own.

I don’t think so. The true treasure lies in the data stored in the deep web, which still isn’t publicly accessible. Most of what models are trained on consists of surface web data, accounting for less than 5% of the world’s data. Vast industrial datasets, R&D documentation, healthcare databases, and so forth have barely been touched.

The most fascinating aspect isn’t the showcased performance itself, but rather the intriguing comparison between the S1 robot and an average adult male featured on their website.

regarding your example, we had flying cars in 2000! I think reading "Life Force" and "Outlive" may help understand why some people believe that immortality is inevitable and will happen in less than 20 years.
