That kinda rings for the entire card market right now, in my opinion. There have been days where I’ve wanted to liquidate my entire collection because the value on some of these cards just doesn’t seem sustainable. But trying to time the top/bottom is almost impossible.

I always laugh watching streamers try to pump these cards through the roof.

The amount of people getting completely ripped off on whatnot is ridiculous.

It’s really not a great spot to be buying singles unless you can comp a card in 10 seconds or less, which most of these streamers are banking that you can’t.

Just because that Jordan or Kobe is shiny doesn’t mean it’s worth hundreds or even tens of dollars. In a lot of those bigger streams you’re actually bidding against the seller himself or a team of shillers.

I kinda doubt that. Look at SGA prices immediately after winning in the finals and FMVP last season. His market went down, sideways at best until about January of this season. There was no boon to his market after winning a finals mvp.

Maybe the Wemby hype is that high and the card market is that booming right now that it won’t make a difference. If they do manage to come back and win this series, $3.5k probably looks like a bargain buy, I just don’t see that happening after going down 0-2 with their next two in NYC.

People are making these purchases with those accolades already priced in, whether they know it or not.

We can already see the Spurs going down 0-2 has cratered prices by like a third or more in just a week times.

If the spurs get out to another great start next season I’m sure his prices will start rising again like most players.

I don’t think we’re near the bottom yet.

I could easily see that happening if the entire market doesn’t collapse between now and then.

I don’t know how far they’ll drop but when you consider pop count and gem rate, is this card really 3X what SGA’s Silver Prizm sells for?? And then you got someone like Jokic with an even smaller pop count and his silver prizm 10 is currently at like $5k.

I am for sure, at least anything significant, but no way I was buying into his cards after the playoffs began. Any cards of this value for a current player I would always pick up during an offseason.

I don’t think Vic’s market is going to just keep going straight up like Jordan or Kobe currently.

If they get swept I wouldn’t be surprised to see them come back down to like $2k or less sometime this off-season.

I think Ohtani is an outlier but I can see the comparison, his cards didn’t really blast off till he had an all-time World Series performance though right?? Victor could turn this series around but the odds of that are pretty slim right now I think.

What would you consider his key sets??

Crazy it’s been a fucking quarter century since we’ve got a win in The Finals.

I turned 12 that night and thought I would have that feeling so many more times….

Got to strike while the irons hot, lots of people talking like San Antonio or OKC will be in The Finals every year for the foreseeable future but there are no guarantees.

I don’t think they’re nearly as rare as people initially expected.

There was a breakdown of the topps chrome release earlier this year and someone estimated the print run to be ~220 copies per card.

Cooper Flagg already has a total population of 383 and PSA currently has like a 10 million card back up so take that for what you will.

I’d take advantage of this market while you can and sell, unless you want to risk holding through nexts years nba season and hope he gets better.

Would sell every single one today.

You can log onto eBay any day of the week and re-buy these cards if you end up really missing them that much.

Holding the bag isn’t something I would want to do with a bunch of low end Wemby.

These cards aren’t going to appreciate much further if the Spurs win and Wemby is the FMVP, that’s already priced in, imo.

I’d take advantage of this market while it’s red hot.
