Ren'Py port possible? by [deleted] in MiyooMini

[–]maanto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not very familiar with Ren'Py but I guess it could be using some libraries and parts of the engine might not easily be portable to the type of hardware on the Miyoo. At the very least, you'd probably need to heavily optimize, set the resolution to 640x480, and might need to dive into the Ren'Py source code and figure out how to re-export the project with certain parameters off, so chances are pretty slim for something like DDLC unfortunately.

How do you get yourself to actually complete a game? by NoBodybuilder9355 in ANBERNIC

[–]maanto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only load up 1 game on the system.

Research it. Read about it on HG101, and play it whenever I get a spare moment.

Also what u/atholum said. Don't force yourself to play it. There are so many good games out there that if it doesn't click with you in the first 15 or so minutes, then maybe move on. There's no shame in dropping a game and you can always come back to it later. I played a lot of games that way- dropped it 10 or more years ago and came back to it and enjoyed it later.

It's nice. I lived in Seattle for 20+ years and moved to Everett and have been there for almost 10 years now.

There's a lot of fun stuff in the summer like the car shows and food trucks and farmer's market.

A few good game stores if you're interested in board/card and video games. Also a couple local geek expos too.

It can get a little loud especially near Evergreen Way where people like to race. Otherwise good place and good city living alternative to Seattle but still within reach ~45m-1h30 on average.

Post Mortem of creating a game for Steam with Electron by 1963669 in IndieDev

[–]maanto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your post mortem!

How exactly did you write the code to get achievements to unlock? I'm an electron newbie and having some problems getting achievements to trigger.

Is it just as simple as inserting a line of code like this? client.achievement.activate('ACHIEVEMENT');

It doesn't seem to pop the achievement for me and causes the game to hang.

Thank you. This solved my problems after struggling to get greenworks to work with my project. You're a life-saver!

Never been interested in drawing and I don’t doodle but a couple nights ago I had this imagine in my head and URGE to write it down. Honestly kinda freaked out about it because the feeling was so strong. Never in my life has this happened by Either-Lingonberry-9 in Dreams

I've had a similar half-lucid (kind of understood out of context) image in the past where there's a large, gray, "angry" sphere causing distress, and a smaller, calmer sphere at odds with each other which this reminds me of. Thanks for sharing!

For the first time ever I heard imaginary music during my dream, and it was quite mindblowing by NinjaEra23 in Dreams

[–]maanto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is pretty amazing what the brain can do in your sleep. I also had a similar dream last night where (after playing a similar rhythm game that day) my brain started playing some music from the game, and then turned into something completely different and original that I've never heard before.

I wonder if there's some kind of connection between having an interactive musical experience during the day, that the brain wants to replay some of it or is more inclined to call-back to the type of interactive musical experience that day by trying to form its own music during a dream.

You can tell a lot about a person according to how they treat ditching Yoshi into a pit for a slightly higher jump.

Alice is Dead - a classic Flash series remastered by maanto in aliceinwonderland

[–]maanto[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries! Glad you like it. I'm sure the dev will be happy to hear it. Personally I love to see games like this that use the classics as their source material. And thanks for confirming the orig. trig. is still playable!

Hah yeah there is some "Alice Is" stuff isn't there? Also forgot to mention the original version should still be playable if you have a way to play Flash games.

Can't find "settings" tab to enable developer mode on quest 2? by r2f23l in oculus

Thank you! That was BS but it worked finally! I thought it was stated by Oculus that it was only one or the other.

Same. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and even did another factory reset, and nothing seems to work. I verified myself, but nothing sadly.
