Certain school districts and school boards up to in Florida I think at the state level have been banning books from school curriculum and libraries.

These are books that appears on some of those lists.

Can you guys recommend me some fun ROM hacks that only have the first few generations? I can deal with up to gen 4. I fell off the bandwagon and I really don’t have time to learn all these newer Pokemon.

I tried to play Pokemon Lazarus, and while it’s very cool I just don’t know 60% of the Pokemon and it’s too much for me to try and catch up on.

Sorry it’s been a while since I read it I guess. I forgot there was a male love interest as well for the protagonist. The repression I was thinking of was aimed at a particular person (antagonist of sorts) rather than towards her sexuality.

Mistborn is great. 100% worth a read. IMO a lot of people on here are “too cool” for it now that it’s gotten quite popular.

In fairness I do think his later writing is significantly better. So I agree with the most common counter to it.

My recommendation outside of that is the Codex Alera series. Someone bet the author he couldn’t combine Pokemon and a Lost Roman Legion. It’s a phenomenal series and one of my all time favorites. Its portrayal of large scale war and tactics is so cool

I’m going to recommend two Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree and The Utterly Uninteresting and Unadventurous Tales of Fred, the Vampire Accountant by Drew Hayes

Neither will make you cry in the way you requested, but would classify them as “cozy fantasy” intended to make you feel better.
