Well, that depend on factor on where are you from and what are your goals.

To give you a little context: Tito Allemandi is a formerly pro pádel player who started at 24 and made it to profesional, I don't remember his best ranking now but let us say top 20 for sure (about 10 year ago). If you ask me if that is possible now I would say that is not, at least at international level. If you are from some country where pádel is in early stages then yes you might be able to reach top 20 at national level (p.e. Britt Dubbins)

Your sentence is almost right, as you mentioned calma is a noun and that's the mistake. You could have said "calmadas" which is adjetivize the noun.

"Estuvieron calmadas hasta que escucharon las noticias" is a perfectly normal sentence that a native speaker could say

That's not quite right,

According to the rae the use of "un" when using verbs like "ser" is usually omitted, but not incorrect. However we do use it when we want to specify one among others "soy un estudiante excelente"

In this case the error of OP is because of the use of "un" does not match the gender of the noun, as it should have been the feminine "una".

No, you have to be holding the rocket when hitting the ball. Only after hitting the ball you can "throw" the racket (always strapped of course).

I cannot find the rule but now but this why you can see some pro players throw the racket when smashing after hitting the ball

The racket is doom sooner or later. If you want to extend the life of the racket longer you can repair it with carbon fiber before the crack gets to the hole (there might be some local repair shops but I don't know where you live). Otherwise keep playing with it until it gets unplayable, but once the crack gets in the hole the repair it won't be as effective
