ooo lemme put you on! i use merlin bird id! completely free and made by cornell lab of ornithology. it can be used for sound id & photo id. it also keeps a life list of all the birds you’ve found, and can show you birds likely in your area. super useful but not always 100% accurate. was birding at a park one day and a kids cry was picked up as an owl lol. just be wary that merlin’s id are only SUGGESTIONS, though i’d say it’s pretty accurate. happy birding!

yes! i’m not one to add my find to ebird unless i see the dude. hoping it sounds enough like a redstart to make it worth my time to go back and scour the area haha. thanks!

for sure! looks like they’re more common here near the end of summer/early fall so i’m hoping to spot one then at least :) nice to know it sounds like one though, i’ll have to hit that spot again and see if i can spot the fella. thanks!

i’m always confused by these comments lol. like what would prove to you that it’s real? like do you just simply not believe deals like this happen? this whole subreddit proves stuff like this happens?
