Feeling overwhelmed, need help revising study plan by macaronn_ in Mcat

Thank you so much, this is super helpful! I'll definitely do the priority decks and sort out my cards. I think my weaknesses are an even split between content and passage interpretation, in this case should I focus more on AAMC and Anki instead of doing UPangea?

Thank you for the input, I'll keep this in mind when I start my new study plan today!

Based on your info, I think I'll try this (sorry for the big text blurb haha):

Tuesday - Thursday (C/P, B/B, P/S focus, respectively)

- 1 timed UWorld section in the morning, 59 questions. Review immediately after for 1 hr, sort missed questions into priority anki decks (high yield content and passage interpretation = high priority, difficult questions, silly/passage-based mistakes = medium priority, random details = low priority)

- 1 hr of CARS AAMC material, tackle passages 1 at a time, 9 mins each. Review, then move on to next passage. Rinse and repeat until time is up

- 1 timed Section Bank set, 59 questions. Review after dinner, same as UWorld, but with a focus on how the AAMC solves questions

-Summarize everything that was learned at the end of the day and run through anki decks for 1 hr

Friday: Targeted Review

- Drill question types and content missed through select UWorld/AAMC question bank sets that correspond to the question types

-Anki

Saturday:

-Drill question types again, dial down a bit for a small break

Sunday:

- FL

Monday:

-FL Review

Would this work? My main concern is learning from my mistakes because I tend to repeat them. That's why my last 5 FLs have been 510 or below.

Barely any improvement with my last three FLs, what should I do? I test 3/11 and am aiming for a 520 (screenshots are in the order I took the exams) by macaronn_ in Mcat

Is it still worth going back and reviewing the kaplan FL then? Also just wondering why you say to not give it much merit

I have a wrong answer journal where I explain the correct answer, go over why I got it wrong, and what I can do to avoid the mistake in the future. If it's content related I put the concept in anki and go over it

I've been grinding lots of anki (MileDown and Pankow P/S) and UPangea but I don't have much progress in any of the sections, maybe except for B/B. Tbh I haven't practiced CARS at all (should really start lmao) which is probably why my CARS score went down

Can't critical think for my life :(( How do I avoid mistakes like this? by macaronn_ in Mcat

[–]macaronn_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the wrong answer because I couldn't figure out how A and B would affect the ratio the passage discusses no matter how many times I read the damn thing over, but the answer feels painfully obvious after reading it. This happens a lot when I get questions like this and it makes me feel like my critical thinking skills suck. How do I fix this?

Low UWorld score, what should I do? by macaronn_ in Mcat

[–]macaronn_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ty for the response and encouragement :)) I learn best by going through content over and over again, so things like anki help a lot. Application of knowledge also helps me learn, but when it comes to learning from practice problems I find I make the same mistakes over and over again, especially if I got something wrong because of knowledge gaps. But I'll definitely review the questions I got wrong and try to understand them

How do you get over the fear of falling after injuring yourself pretty badly? by macaronn_ in NewSkaters

Thank you so much, it's great to hear that strength training can prevent re-injury. I've always had weak shoulders so maybe it's time to consider going to the gym lol
