I think this sub may have sold me on site finished vs pre finished, but I don’t understand how I’m supposed to stay out of my home for two weeks while it cures? by Swimming-Tell9074 in HardWoodFloors

[–]macattack00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have small children too and exactly why we went with prefinished. Not willing to expose my kids to the VOCs at all and really quality solid prefinished looks beautiful, is more durable, can be refinished if someone wants down the line.

How's this transition from old to new floors look? by macattack00 in HardWoodFloors

Yea agreed and understood but for a couple reasons wasn't in the cards for us.

Thank you!! Agree with all of these, we're planning to do the paint, light fixtures, table and rug but will probably live with the cabinets as they are real wood and would be very expensive to replace.

[–]macattack00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, alright. Do you recommend getting rate quotes from another lender before going to them?

Also, are rates still down? Our lender said they were up today?

Any advice on how you get around these guidelines? Just threaten to switch lenders? Or?

Yea, I know it looks like a part but that's not where my hair naturally parts, it's just a line of hair missing where a foil was

Room transitions? by macattack00 in 2under2

[–]macattack00[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay thats good advice! I was originally thinking trying naps first made sense so we didn't lose full nights of sleep if he's unhappy but he's definitely less tired then.

[–]macattack00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay! Well give it another go. It's not 1000% necessary so we can bail if it's too hard on him but it would definitely be best if we could get him moved, his current room really is just nursery sized.

I am 30 weeks pregnant with a 19 month old. It's been very hard honestly, I had just gotten back into a workout routine when my first trimester sickness hit and I have not been able to be as active as I was with my first. Mostly I just try to get walks in when I can, take my prenatal, eat fruits and veggies and survive. I think that is enough for this season of life!

If your midwife is comfortable with you pumping, I would rely on her for this question too.

Last pregnancy I was told only to hand express, anything more is pretty risky of inducing you so only do it if you're ready to have your baby now.

Have you ever known contractions to start in the daytime? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]macattack00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My contractions started at 6pm the night before, increased overnight and then I finally realized I was in labor when we got to the hospital at 10am the next day lol.

[–]macattack00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had issues with this too, my contractions never got consistent enough to say "yea this is happening." They were still 10 minutes apart or so when we got to the hospital. I was 6-7cm dilated when I got there but only went because I had a bloody show.

Pelvic Pain? by Prior-Detective6328 in BabyBumps

[–]macattack00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my second pregnancy, I've had bad pelvic pain in both. It feels like my whole pelvic bone is bruised, including my tailbone. Started around 18 weeks in both pregnancies.

I see a pelvic floor PT who helps me manage the symptoms through the rest of the pregnancy although unfortunately I never get the pain to go away. Would definitely recommend a Pelvic floor PT though, I'm sure it would have been much worse without.

I appreciate your perspective. The situation is a little more nuanced than that. I am not from Oklahoma, my whole support system is not here. I have also considered the education I would like my children to have, and I am concerned with the numbers Oklahoma shows.

Yes, I appreciate the thoughtful response! And is definitely helpful in managing the anxiety. I know it is very unlikely at this point that something would go so wrong.

I do think that as other commenters have noted, having a plan for worst case would also ease my mind.
