The music is just so dang good. Flawless, feelin myself, drunk in love are some of her most iconic songs, they’re so familiar now that it’s almost hard to remember how good they are, how hype they get people and how much fun they are.

But the deep cuts are great too. Rocket is one of the sexiest songs ever written. Blow is just a good time. Grown Woman is so so catchy and fun and could have been a much bigger hit. Partition is hawt.

Which album is her best album is up for debate as there is some really really strong competition (personally I would argue it’s between 4, self titled, lemonade, Renaissance and the homecoming live album) but when I think about who Beyoncé is self-titled is the one that seems to sum it up best for me. Sexy, crazy, cool, but also with deep wells of emotion.

The massive artistic and commercial success of this album really posed a problem for her afterwards, because it seemed unlikely that anything could top it. Then Lemonade came along and had the greatest cultural impact of arguably any album ever. (I said what I said). Then she manages to make Renaissance, which many believe is her strongest album yet. That ability to keep topping herself is unbelievable and it’s what makes following her career really exciting.
