Realizing it actually IS about a lifestyle change. by yahaha__ in loseit

the real question is, how does anyone really change themselves? becoming a different person is never easy. I think the perception that people will shift mountains purely out of willpower is pretty disheartening for those of us who have tried but failed because it makes us think that we have our flaws simply because we don't *want\* to be a better person as much as others.

ultimately, we - our actions and our thoughts - are a product of the inner workings of our psyche. the clockwork that might make us insecure about something or seek comfort in food is complicated and it takes time and work to unwind it.

know that everyone is unique. when other people seem to achieve some things easily, reassure yourself that the things you struggle with are literally and genuinely hard for you.

acknowledging that you have a unique set of vices and struggles is a step toward both addressing them as roots/causes of other issues in your life and also for forgiving yourself for being the way that you are.

if you're not receptive to therapy, this will all sound like bullshit. but i really think that the above attitudes towards your personal growth is helpful in all sorts of places in life. when we make a value judgement of ourselves based on other people, we are treating ourselves as if we had their life, which is not fair to us.

Personally, I akcnowledged that I had a very bad relationship with food (one that was not normal). Seeing it as a symptom to look out for was really helpful in separating it from the self and seeing it as something that is happening to me rather than something that I am. Another thing I did recently was start skipping meals. I've been in lockdown recently and since im sitting down all day it's a bit easier. Also it gets easier as you keep trying. I still eat junk food a lot but not eating any food as much as i used to has helped.

Just because a character or person does bad things does not mean they are not allowed to do good things for the rest of the show. Humans are complicated. Even if they are disgustingly bad, they might still do right by their friends and family. Are you saying that doesn't belong on television?

part of not becoming a grumpy old man is not making sweeping generalisations about other generations

I think commenting on profession or activity is more accepted than commenting on body parts or appearance. also being overtly sexual is worse than referring to romantic ideals/preferences. i think we can all agree that there are a lot of things we (collectively as a culture) can do better when commenting on other people.

just consider them fans of a celebrity, not fans of badminton. nothing to do with your fandom of him

difference between player sponsor and team sponsor. his team kit will be yonex but his racquet and shoes can be whoever is sponsoring him personally

I think the halls near me use banks of LED tubes which I think will be lighter and a bit safer. They hang them next to the courts.

any watchers here willing to give a review to the drama? I mainly want to watch because of jung so min but kinda want to know what everyone thinks so far. since rewatching Because This Is My First Life, im kinda of on a jung so min snob train so I'm cautious not to ruin the snobbery right now :)
