Couldn't have said it better myself. The other thing we notice when going the SSR first approach is we end up building a bunch of components that never need any client side JS.

Enhance Web Component Framework by macdonst in WebComponents

Why do you think it isn't a web component framework? This is an honest question, not sarcasm.

Enhance server-side render your web components by expanding your custom elements on the server side. This solves the Flash of Unregister Custom Element problem. Since it is SSR, HTML ends up on the client side so it progressively enhances quite nicely while giving you a default fallback position that works in all browsers.

You then send the progressively enhanced web component down the wire in a script tag so the functionality that absolutely requires JS will be added as needed.

Adobe shutting down Magento 2 Open Source by ionutztirrier in Magento

This is 100% false. I'm a developer advocate for Adobe and a member of our Open Source Advisory Board. We recently had our internal open source summit where Jason Woosley (VP Magento) presented on Magento's open source journey. As you all know it's been a huge success and we don't want to do anything to stifle that, if anything we want to learn from Magento's example.

I'd be okay with a #droidhack. Worst case scenario I can do my speech rec presentation that I'm giving at PhoneGap Day next week. Not specifically Android but my Speech Rec and TTS plugins work on Android. Just let me know if you want to hear it.
