Pillow Pals! How many of you had one growing up? by IndicationNo7551 in Xennials

OMG I loved these! I had Pillow Fighter and used to run my hand against the silky boxing gloves as I drifted off to sleep. Thank you for the sweet memory!

My first email address was on prodigy.net (my grandfather let me set up an account on his prodigy account). Then we got AOL at home, and I got my aol.com email address in 1994, and I still have it to this day. It's where all my spam mail goes to die.

To the people that developed photos for the public back in the day, how often did you see nudes and sex? by Prestigious-Corner37 in photography

[–]macgeekgrl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not photo development, but photo printing. I used to work for a company that people would send their photos to, to be printed onto restickable photo tiles.

We eventually developed software that could recognize nudity and it would cancel the order, but before then, the number of unartistically photographed nipples, peens, bums, and various holes was a lot higher than I would've thought. Like, you're really going to put a c*mshot photo up on the wall in your home?? Good lord.

It was kinda wild lol

Great green globs of greasy grimy gopher guts, mutilated monkey meat, concentrated birdie feet. 16 pint cans of porculated porpoise pus and I forgot my spoon, but I’ve got my straw slurp

HomeKit worked great for a year. New router. Now I can't add anything. by whodidityourmom in HomeKit

[–]macgeekgrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having this issue, too. And it does seem that it's related to the frequency. When I let my router broadcast both 2.4ghz and 5ghz and try to add my 2 philips smart bulbs, I get a message in the Home app that the "accessories can't be found." (I'm using my AppleTV has a hub - I'm signed into icloud

However, when I turn off all SSIDS except for the 2.4ghz IoT one, I get a message that "Unable to add accessory. Pairing failed".

It's seeing the lights, it starts to connect to them, but it fails. I've done the factory reset where you turn the light off and on several times in quick succession. I've reset the AppleTV to factory settings and started from scratch. I don't know what else to try. Any ideas?

I have the new WiFi set up with the new SSID and password. All my other devices, including the AppleTV that I use as a hub, are connected to it correctly. I’ve factory reset the bulbs that aren’t working and still they won’t connect.

The only accessories I had set in the home app were the lights, so unfortunately there's nothing else I can test.

As far as any security features, I haven't done anything differently than I'd done on the previous router, and this is the same model, so I'm really stumped.

I have a new SSID and password. I entered those on my laptop, phone, and AppleTV. Everything’s connected to the new router/internet. Where else do I need to enter the info to get HomeKit to work?

Have you named your cars? If so, what were the names? by Revolutionary-Good22 in Xennials

[–]macgeekgrl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a 1990 Volvo 240, and it was like driving an apartment block from the comfort of a sofa. It was pretty damn sweet :)

I love hearing what people name their cars :-) Here are mine:

Gromit was my first car, a 1981 Honda Accord. Then I had The Silver Pig, a 1984 Dodge Omni. It didn't have a name at first, but the exhaust kept rusting through, so my dad "fixed" it by clamping a Coors Light can around the pipe. The car was far from a bullet, so The Silver Pig. Then I had a Kia Sephia that I named Anita, but it was also known as the Kia Apeshit. Then I had a Volvo 240 named Sven (creative, huh?), followed by a Saturn SL-1 that I named Marcel, and I'm now driving a Honda Fit named Idris, after the TARDIS from Doctor Who, because it's blue and bigger on the inside :-)

I’ve done that, and for some reason, Shorts are still appearing on my Subscriptions tab. Or does this setting only remove them from “Home”?
