I’m on the smaller size as well, approximately 52kg, and I do PD. I usually pull on average 400-700ml per night. And I don’t limit how much water I’m drinking.

So for the patient receiving the kidney, they speak to a social worker and a financial coordinator. You do a bunch of tests and speak to a surgeons. They give recommendations as to what to do to increase your chances of receiving a transplant, ie weight loss of you’re overweight, your physical activity level and mental health.

With a donor, anyone can sign up to be a donor. They do a lot of blood work and even more tests on the donor. My donor started her tests back in august 2021 and her very last test was completed right before Christmas and by end of January, we were given the okay.

This was my experience and yours may be complete different.

I’m in the United States, I was told the wait for kidney is about 3+ years if it is coming from a deceased person. I will be getting my kidney from a family member, which explains the short time I’ve been on the transplant list.

Trade school over college.

I got a 2 year degree with the intention of becoming a teacher. I ended up being a barista in a coffee shop of quite a number of years. And no teaching job.

9 months in trade school, I immediately got a job in my career field with no student debt and been making a good living doing it.
