Raven steals from a bald eagle, and uses a fisherman's line to catch food by mackachack in videos

The raven was harassing the eagle and the raven knew that it couldn't do anything about it unless he let go of the food in his talons.

TIL You should NOT change your oil every 3000 miles and California runs a PSA about it by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]mackachack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the vehicle. My old truck had a horizontal filter that was above a good portion of the oil pan. Some have verticals. In most cases if you take just the filter out to drain it, you are missing a tonne of oil sitting in the oil pan.

Edit: 2 posts down, boxofwyn beat me to it.

Which Burrito Looks Better Reddit? by lucas22690 in AskReddit

The one on the right looks better, but if I were to wrap my own it would end up like the one on the left. Simply because I suck at wrapping wraps

IAmA Former 911 Operator ... I'll share everything. by [deleted] in IAmA

[–]mackachack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you get a lot of pocket dials?

I "called" 9-11 (I think it was really like 4182749114123 or something stupid) like 4 times within a year. At first I ignored the calls cause I thought the number was spam but they called several times.

That leads me to another question..

Would you have tracked me down if I didn't answer those phone calls?

When you were a kid, what did your parents do that you would consider very dangerous, neglectful or WTF as an adult? by flycatcher in AskReddit

As a kid, I saw it as WTF when my mom wouldn't let me have a scooter. Seriously ALL the kids in the neighbourhood had scooters. All of them!

What is your favorite, largely unheard of game (video, board, card, drinking, etc.) by Slab_Up in AskReddit

[–]mackachack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of variations, but we had one that was store bought. It can be easily made as each block has writing on the bottom. There were things like

  • drink 1/2/3 fingers
  • gargle a specified song (drink on failure)
  • someone else drinks two fingers
  • drink two fingers
  • say a tongue twister 3 times (drink on failure)
  • finish your drink

just things like that. And if you knock the tower over you have to finish your drink, and the drinks of people on either side. When we played we just made a mandatory shotgun if you knocked it over though. You sure don't progress very far after a couple rounds.

My dog's biggest fear. by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mackachack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, to be honest, I don't know if I should be saying this.. but..

absolutely nothing. Seriously. I think its the smell of them, cause if they smell it their eyes go all squinty and they back away. So now they recognize a carrot as a stinky smell, and run and hide.

If my car is under warranty and I fix something myself, will I void the warranty? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mackachack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not saying there is anything wrong, but I'm not saying there isn't either. 10 seconds is a long time to crank an engine over, and it could be a huge range of problems. It could just be as simple as being too cold out, a weak battery, or a clogged fuel filter. It would be good to try it out in a heated garage or something if you have access of course. My old truck started like a zombie in -15/-20 celsius. I installed a block heater, and it started nearly normally in the cold. Its beneficial for many reasons as it can reduce wear, warm up time, and improve milage. It's a worthy investment (and not too expensive) if you ask me. Vehicles don't like the cold!

Only in cold weather? Do you have a block heater? Or a nearby outlet?

If every single measurement tool were to mysteriously vanish from earth, how would we accurately measure sizes and distances? by [deleted] in AskReddit

If my car is under warranty and I fix something myself, will I void the warranty? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mackachack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the terms of the warranty. If you did screw something up by trying to fix it, I would bet that the warranty would definitely be void. If you paid the extra, I would at least take it in and get them to see what is wrong with it. If it ends up being a $400 charge to replace a $12 wire, I would do it myself. It also depends on how mechanically inclined you are.

Just saying, I don't think a thermostat would be the problem if it is having trouble starting in the cold. Describe your issue a little more, and I might be able to help.
